Make sure that you drive the Kancamagus Scenic Highway to Conway-No. Conway through the White Mountains NF. A number of parking areas, trailheads, etc. offer good opportunities for walks and picture-taking. Recommend: the suspension bridge/Hancock(?) visitor center/trails near the western entrance, Otter Rocks picnic area, Sabbaday Falls day-use/hiking area (a little bit of a climb -- but a really neat gorge and 20' or so falls) and Rocky Gorge (after seeing the gorge, cross the Swift River via the rocks and bridge -- and walk up the stepped trail to the quiet little lake on the other side) . . . . have a meal and a little shopping over in Conway-No. Conway and return via the 'Kanc' for a nice daytrip . . . . make sure you get a parking pass at the Visitor's Center out by the highway on the west side of town.
