Repeat trips to buttonwood

by TripAdvisor Member dncer665

My husband and I have stayed at the Buttonwood Inn three times now. Each time we have stayed in a different room. We have enjoyed each trip. This is the first time we had met the current owners. They were very friendly and helpful when needed for ideas and directions. Breakfast was great!! I would love to go back just for that. We really enjoy watching movies or playing games in the common room downstairs in the basement. My husband went swimming in the outdoor pool. It was a bit too chilly for me but he enjoyed it!

Quiet and Pleasant stay perfect for a little R&R.

The Buttonwood Inn was a quiet and pleasant stay, perfect for a little R&R. Bill and Paula were very kind and eager to help with our weekend plans in and around North Conway. The inn itself was very clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious, Paula is an amazing cook!
Great location. Two minute drive to the village and mountains. But still far enough away for the peace and quiet!

Buttonwood In is on my top FIVE list of places to stay - this being #1!

by TripAdvisor Member LarzieNJ

We've stayed at several B&B's in New England and this one was by far the nicest. It was a very peaceful setting, very clean rooms and bathrooms. The Inn has a very relaxed feeling with the smells of good food cooking; and a nice firing going at all times. The breakfasts are not just any old ordinary food - it is definately gourmet! No eggs and bacon here. . . The Inn keepers are very helpful and willing to make your stay as comfortable as possible. They are helpful with getting you to locations in the area and making the arrangements to get you there. The property is gorgeous - hiking trails right out the back door. There is a hot tub and a huge swimming pool, too. You can snuggle up with a book outside or in. The outdoor setting is just as relaxing and very tranquil. I would definately recommend staying at the Buttonwood Inn!!

Charming and Comfortable

by TripAdvisor Member RedRox

We've just returned from a delightful and uplifting family reunion in Kearsarge NH at the Buttonwood Inn. Our hosts Bill and Paula couldn't have been more accomodating. Seven of our family members occupied four rooms, and we all agreed, the lodging was superb.
Our room featured a sitting area with a TV and DVD player, a comfortably firm queen bed and quality antique furniture. The drawers in the dresser worked perfectly. So often in antiques, they stick. Not here. The bathroom was spotless and modern with excellent plumbing quality and lush linens. Since our family owns an historic farmhouse of a similar vintage (1780) nearby, I know that these qualities are often rare in these homes.
Breakfast each morning was hearty, creative and tasty. And Bill and Paula were both very gracious about accomodating additional guests to dine with us.
The living room on the main floor, and the recreation room on the lower floor both featured well drawing fireplaces that Bill kept burning at the appropriate hours. We had all of the modern conveniences including wireless internet service, a full DVD library and a bar area with refridgerator and storage for personal beverages and snacks. And Paula's brownies and cookies each day were a special treat.
Due to the 5 feet of snow on the ground outside, and our busy family schedule, we didn't use the pool or hot tub outdoors. But they are a part of the package, and Bill made it clear that he could heat up the spa with just a couple hours notice.
Located on Mt Surprise Rd, away from the hustle and bustle of downtown North Conway, it is still convenient to all of the attractions that one looks for in The Mt Washington Valley.
If you're looking for an authentic New England farmhouse, and a relaxing place to enjoy the charm and homey feeling that is a part of the White Mountains, then this could very well be the place.

The Perfect Weekend Getaway

by TripAdvisor Member WillardStreetInn

The Buttonwood Inn offered all of the essentials and more, at a more than reasonable price! From the warming fireplace in the room to the wonderful homemade breakfasts from Paula, everything was perfect for our weekend getaway. We even got to enjoy the hot tub on a crisp night, which was just ideal after exploring the town! If you are looking for privacy, comfort and exquisite breakfasts, look no further than The Buttonwood Inn! We will definitely be back!

Tranquil Buttonwood

by TripAdvisor Member Bunny022

In April we spent a week travelling around New England staying at B&B's. Each was so individual that comparisons are unfair, but Buttonwood has to be a favourite. We received a genuinely warm welcome from Bill and Paula, who are attentive hosts without being intrusive. They were always available for advice or information but otherwise we were left in peace to enoy their lovely home. Early coffee was available and enjoyed, and afternoon tea and coffee was also laid out with home made cakes and biscuits. Paula is an excellent cook, waistlines beware! The house is in a quiet, rural setting while being only a stones throw from shops and a variety of eating places. Hiking trails start from the property if that is your need, but it is also convenient for major routes or local beauty spots. Being early in the year the outdoor pool was not relevant, but the grounds promised to be lovely in the summer when I imagine the pool would be blissful. Our room was cosy and had every facility, although I looked at the room with the jacuzzi and wished ...... The final delight was the tiny red squirrel who knew how to entertain right outside our window while we ate breakfast. He cannot be guaranteed of course, but Bill did almost promise hummingbirds in summer. I was very reluctant to leave, which is perhaps the best test of accommodation.

Quiet and Comfortable

We enjoyed our time at the Buttonwood Inn. The decor was lovely and the food was very good. Bill helped us find a short walk with a lovely waterfall. He also recommended several nice places to eat dinner. Our stay was between seasons, but we found plenty to do to keep ourselves occupied. It was a little cool so we enjoyed the warm fire in the morning before breakfast and at night before going to bed. My husband especially enjoyed the deep claw-footed bath tub to soak after the walk in the woods. We had an unexpected treat birds at the feeder while we ate our breakfast and a guidebook to identify them.

We happened across this lovely Inn and we're very happy about it. The Inn is much larger than it first appears but has a fantastic cozy charm to it.
Every amenity was there to make our stay enjoyable and our hosts were always available if we needed further assistance.
The rooms were beautifully appointed, the evening tea service with fresh baked goodies and the fantastic breakfast all helped to make this a wonderful getaway weekend. My only disappointment was that we only had one night as this was a very last minute trip.
But we've put the phone number in our speed dial and whenever one of us feels like we need to get away...we'll be back !

Stay at the Buttonwood Inn

Beautiful setting to enjoy the White Moutains area. The place is very quiet and the house is lovely decorated.
Enjoy a coffee or tea sitting near one of the fireplaces before having a delicious breakfast.
The hospitality of Bill and Paula, the innkeepers, makes of your stay a wonderful experience!

Hidden Surprise

Tucked away on a quiet street, The Buttonwood Inn is a lovely find. We wanted a weekend escape to do nothing but relax and we were pampered at the Buttonwood Inn. Bill and Paula are the nicest hosts and we felt as though we were part of their family. They served us delectable breakfasts and gave us some great suggestions for local resturants. The inn is very homey with charming and very comfortable rooms, and common areas that invite you to relax - we did! Its like a home away from home and we look forward to going back with our friends and our kids and/or going back for another weekend escape very soon!
