The Hampton Inn in Portsmouth is a pretty nice place to stay, and in a good location off of the highway. It's not all that close to the downtown so you'll want a car if you stay there, although they do have a free shuttle bus that runs guests back and forth to local destinations until ten PM daily. The beds were pretty comfortable and our room had a refrigerator and a microwave which was nice. I also liked the nice toiletries that they gave you in the bathroom. The only complaint I can think of is that the climate control wasn't the best; it seemed I was always too hot or too cold. It would have been better if we could have opened the window. The hotel is also fairly expensive for what you get, though most hotels in the area are on the pricey side.
Unique Quality: The hotel has a pool and a gym, although I used neither. They also offer a pretty descent free breakfast which I was very happy to see when I woke up starving one morning. The coffee wasn't too bad either.
What can I say about a hotel that offers free Happy Hour nightly from 5pm-7pm, but YIPPEE!! I loved this hotel.
