Re: parking

There are lots of parking garages.

Absolutely, There is plenty of parking in Atlantic City. However if you are visiting on the weekends prepare to pay a premium for parking. Most casino's have Parking garages which charge you, however some will reduce the price if you have a promotions card. They are easy to sign up for and will save you a few bucks on parking.

All the casinos have parking. If you gamble enough on their casino cards it's free to park. Otherwise it runs $5-$20 depending on the casino and season.

Travel Tips for Atlantic City

Kodak Moments

by penumbra

Just in case you need an excuse to take someone’s picture, the Boardwalk offers a multitude of props for that Kodak moment. See my Boardwalk Kodak Moments for pictures of other points of interest along the Boardwalk.

Cesear's Palace

by Gypsystravels

Visit Cesear's Palace and take a photograph with one of the Romans, Cesear or Cleopatra.

*** Please note, I have been to Ceasar's numerous times since this tip was made and have not seen anyone walking around in costume, it is possible that it no longer exists.***

Tipping Cocktail Waitresses et al.

by machomikemd

Casino Waitresses – I tip them regardless of my luck. Drinks are free and these girls typically will keep coming back as long as you are kind to them. If I believe that I need better service I will tip two to three dollars up front and that guarantees that I will always have a drink in my hand.

Change Clerks - If you are winning be nice share a little, after all they brought you the lucky coins.

Casino Host and Hostess - These wonderful people are not allowed to accept money tips. But a nice little gift from your area or something at Christmas is graciously appreciated.

Dealers - These are most appreciated. Several ways to tip a dealer. You may tip a dealer a side bet next to your bet or on top of your bet. Dealers usually enjoy being able to participate in the game. If you place his tip on top of yours and it wins you keep the original chip and he collects the winnings from his bet you have set aside. Or you may want to just hand him cash or chips when you leave the table. I usually tip every 30 minutes or so with a chip or a bet. This is entirely up to you.

Signs, signs. Everywhere there’s signs!

by penumbra

They love signs in New Jersey. As soon as you cross into the state, it seems to me that there are a lot more traffic signs along the highway. This goes for Atlantic City roads and, of course, the Boardwalk. The signs I like the most are the ones they place each block giving the name of the street and some historic tidbit. They’re done up to look like monopoly cards which is quite appropriate as well.

The Senator Frank S. Farley State Marina

by penumbra

While in the Marina district, visit the Senator Frank S. Farley State Marina. This is a public facility owned by the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry managed by Trump Marina Associates. The marina offers 640 floating slips most of which are occupied by amazing craft. Security prevents tourists from walking up and down the docks, but many of the craft can be viewed from the patio or from along the shore.
