Grand Old Inn

The Queen Victoria is a beauty! It has been opened to the public since 1980. The home has 21 rooms-- in the summer season the cost is $210-$480. Serves full breakfast and afternoon tea with sweets and savories. This British style tea is served on either one of the two porches or by the fireplace inside.

This lodging is within walking distance to the beach and shopping. Complimentary bicycles and beach chairs are available. Special getaway packages offered at certain times of the year.

The place to stay in Cape May!

by A TripAdvisor Member

I just got back from a brief stay at the Queen Victoria - first of all, if you are planning to take the ferry from Lewes, DE, leave the car and go on foot. The QV is 3 blocks from the shuttle bus stop and you will not have to deal with the hassle of finding parking in Cape May during the season. Plus, they offer free bikes to guests (a very nice touch, and a great way to get around town). The house itself is beautiful, and the service is excellent. One block to the beach, just far enough back to be away from the noise and traffic (which in Cape May is not nearly as bad as other Jersey beaches) but extremely convenient. Highly recommended!

We are back home after spending a week in Cape May. If you have never gone there, you should and definitely stay at The Queen Victoria. This Bed and Breakfast is first class. The service is exceptional as well as the accomodations. We have stayed in a few B&B's in Cape May and will always go back to this one. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and always there to say "hello". Doug and AnnaMarie are top notch and make themselves very available to chat with, ask a question, or just ask how your day was. The beach is beautiful, the restaurants superb, and the shopping is great. There is so much to do there and we always find ourselves quite sad when it's time to leave. We do intend to get to Cape May during the Fall and Winter. We will be back again and again.

Great Stay in Cape May - Just Superb!!!!

My wife and I just returned from our second stay at the Queen Victoria B&B. Beyond a doubt, this is one of the very best B&B experiences that we have had the pleasure to enjoy anywhere across the country. The innkeepers, Doug and Anna Marie, know how to make you feel welcome and enjoy your stay. Your coffee cup will never be empty!! They are present for your needs and to chat, it seems, whenever you feel the need but are not intrusive. The staff is very professional and their priority is your privacy and comfort but they go about their work without being noticed. The choice of rooms can meet any need. We had the wonderful opportunity to stay in the Crown Jewel Carriage House - what a treat - one of the best accommodations we have ever experienced. All rooms are immaculate and every need from beach chairs, to unbrellas, to bikes, to beach towels and that early morning coffee are there for you. A must if you are in Cape May during any season.

perfect romantic getaway

Our first stay at the Queen Victoria certainly won't be our last!! Doug and AnnaMarie have created a beautiful victorian retreat in Cape May. The location is right in the middle of everything that's happening in CM yet located on a street that is quiet and restful. Don't bother to bring anything along as they provide every item you might consider. Our last day we stayed on the beach all day long and were invited back to use their outdoor shower facilities (nicer than most indoor facilities) and stay for afternoon tea on the beautiful front porch! We returned their beach chairs, towels, umbrella and showered off and had some delicious treats before the drive home. They provide bicycles so you can bike your way around beautiful Cape May. In the evening, the occasional horsedrawn carriage passes by discreetly as you sip your tea on the front porch. We would heartily recommend this B&B for a wonderful stay in CM!!!

Just right

Spent three nights on vacation and had a very nice time. The Queen Victoria is, in a word, comfortable. The amenities are plentiful (breakfast, afternoon tea, beach chairs and umbrellas, bicycles, and anytime-you-want beverages are all included) and the innkeepers just the right amount of friendly. The Queen Victoria is not fancy and it fits the atmosphere of Cape May well; with 21 rooms, it also is more like an inn than a B&B, which we preferred. Docked a star for its quirks, like mismatched towels and the weird way that they gave us a plastic bag to "bring home your mayberry soap." (Do people do this? Why wouldn't the inn just provide a fresh, wrapped bar?) Quibbles aside, the owners and staff are doing a very good job, and the location can't be beat. Recommended.

Lovely accommodations at the Queen Victoria B&B

by TripAdvisor Member snilsen

The rooms at the Queen Victoria were wonderfully accommodating. Lovely decor and all the comforts you could possibly need - i.e. private bath, TV, A/C, mini fridge. The location is perfect - a block to beach, shopping and many fine restaurants. The hosts were charming and very knowledgeable and made wonderful suggestions for places to dine. Parking lot next door was extremely convenient. After seeing other B&B's we were considering, we were so pleased we chose the Queen Victoria. Would definitely stay there again.

Queen Victoria is the Ultimate B&B in Cape May

The Queen Victoria has recently changed owners. As a repeat customer for many years, I booked my stay for this summer hoping to find the same attention to detail and high level of service that I have grown accustomed to from this luxury inn.

The new owners, Doug and Anna Marie did not disappoint me at all. They have not only continued the Queen's traditions, but with some extra amenities as well. The Flavia coffee machines and bistro tables on the porches are just a couple of the added features. The Innkeepers are warm and hospitable with a staff to match.

Having stayed at many of the inns in Cape May, The Queen Victoria cannot be beat. The spaciousness and cleanliness of the rooms, as well as the concierge service are just a few of the reasons I will continue to stay at The Queen Victoria each time I visit Cape May.

In my opinion, The Queen Victoria and the Queen's Hotel are the only places to stay while in Cape May.

The Queen Victoria lived up to its billing and more!!!

I took my girlfriend to the Queen Victoria for our anniversary. The whole weekend stay was a true pleasure. The inn is one block from the beach in a very convenient spot of Cape May. There are two vineyards a few miles away. The staff at the QV is excellent. They made reservations for us for dinner both nights we were there and the restaurants did not disappoint. The house itself is beautiful. It was the little touches that truly impressed us. Everything from a flower petal in the toilet (not kidding) to chocolates on the bed at night to the sheets being turned down in the evening to tea in the afternoon to one of the staff setting the alarm clock for us when we could not figure it out. Doug was so personable from the time we showed up. Breakfast was delicious. We plan on going back there for Christmastime. I definitely recommend it for a romantic weekend. Thanks.

Anniversary Stay for 5 days

We had a great stay. The inkeepers are gracious people. My wife is disabled and they were very accomodating to her special needs. We are not big fans of buffet breakfasts but the food and afternoon tea were good. I would recommend this wonderful place to our friends.
