Brighton Beach "Little Odessa"
by nyceagle1633
To similate as best as possible russian culture, visit Brighton Beach in Brooklyn. They have nice clean beach, boardwalk, lots of cafes to eat russian cuisine both on and off the boardwalk, and stores to buy russian and ukranian groceries. The M&I International Foods is unique place to find many of the assorted groceries. There are some fruit & vegetable markets, sell for very reduced price, and good quality. The Gourmet store near to M&I has best prices ever for dried fruits.
Take the Q directly to Brighton Beach, or Take F or B, but you have to walk, maybe like extra 7 minutes to Brighton Beach Blvd. Maybe 30-40 minute subway ride. Also, this is nearby to Coney Island. Ocean Parkway is exit if you take Brooklyn Queens Expressway by car.
Jersey City

Jersey City is one of those places that is benefiting from the high prices in New York City.
Many things are much cheaper over here while leaving you only a short path train ride away from lower Manhattan.
"The Brownstone Diner"
Liz and I are big fans of the Food Network Show:Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. The Diner was featured on the show for being family owned with large portions and incredible breakfast items. Liz and I planned on coming to the Brownstone just the two of us but decided to drag Antoinette along since she was having such a horrible weekend and needing some cheering up.
We picked Ant up and headed for the diner. It was a Sunday so there was a large breakfast crowd. We were given a number and askd to wait. During this time we were able to peruse the many choices on the menu. The menu was huge and had everything you could want from appetizers, pancakes, omeletes, burgers, pasta, sandwiches and Greek specialties. The service here was fast and friendly. The portions were huge and the food was great. We all loved our meals and can't wait to return.
Just some quick beautiful sights of the city

As our friend Danny continued driving from Atlantic City towards our destination(LSP), we passed by the city and enjoyed those interesting sights even just for a short glance.
Jersey City is in New Jersey and famous to its historical landmarks, popular attractions, lodging and dining venues.
wonderful sceneries with old buildings and this gorgeous park located westside of Manhattan.
Moose Lives Here
by bluefelt
My good friend, Moose, lives in Jersey City. He loves it because of the mob ties, the pizza, and the fact that there are hookers with no teeth wearing sweatpants on the sidewalks outside his building. Now he's a little scared because of what happened in New York and the ties to Jersey City. Nonetheless, it is the cheapest place to live outside of Manhattan but within commuting distance. However, I would never live there, nor would I walk alone around the neighborhoods. It is close to Hoboken, which is much nicer and expensive now. So what, you ask, does a person do in Jersey City? Go to Manhattan through the PATH train or bus system, or try dealing drugs. I think there are some takers if you know what I mean. Say HI to Moose for me while you're there. Buy him a slice of pizza.
