The beachside houses
They have been made in a style which reminds me more of an english town then a town in the US. Their pointy dark roofs and the white walls are not seen that much in the us so far as i know.

Not my favorite thing--paying to get on the beach. Most annoying!!!! A day pass is $5.50. If you go to the south end of the boardwalk, it's 50 cents cheaper. How do you like that??!!? Well, if you buy a season pass it's much cheaper, but still! I think the beaches should be free, we pay enough in Jersey taxes, don't we?
One of the many beach towns along the Jersey Shore, Point Pleasant is a good choice, especially for families. It has a beautiful beach, a boardwalk with food and games, and you can also go into town if you feel like shopping.
We drove to Point Pleasant Beach on a not so sunny day, but we knew from Niki's uncle there was more to do.
There were some nice shops, and even with this weather most beach vendors were still open, NIki bought a miniature engraved New Jersey License Plate over here.

This is one of my husband's and I favorite beach destinations throughout the year except for summer when the mobs descend, parking becomes non-existent and noise prevails. There is something so romantic about being on a deserted boardwalk and beach, strolling hand-in-hand, while wearing 5 layers of clothing to avoid the frigid ocean breezes. The beach is wide and relatively clean Ithis is NJ afterall!) while the boardwalk has the requisite arcades and crappy food joints. One huge draw of this boardwalk is Jenkinson's Arcade which has some classic arcade games like Pac-Man & Centipede. The boardwalk has been refurbished and there is a nice stretch about a mile long each way to stroll down.
I definitely recommend a visit to Point Pleasant Beach Boardwalk for a classic Jersey shore experience. Not too small or too big with the requisite junk food, arcade games and large boardwalk. Very little adults rides but great rides for the kiddies. Very family-oriented.
