Travel Tips for Princeton

I take all my guests to the Ivy Inn, a great dive bar with a motley crowd and good pool playing, as well as the cheapest drinks in town. All of the great times I've spent at the Ivy Inn with the fellow townies of Princeton.

Pricey

by dzni

Princeton is a pricey town, even for having a college there. However, it does in fact have the college there, which precludes students from going to a lot of the places in town -- thus, you can still get by cheaply if you look around.

The Plainsboro Preserve

by frankcanfly

A 650 acre Natural Preservation Site set aside in Plainsboro, NJ.

This site was the location of a former Sand Mining Operation. Now, all that's left is a beautiful lake and acres of forest with hiking trails.

Lambertville and New Hope, PA

Lambertville is maybe 20 minutes from Princeton, sitting on the Delaware River. It's an historic town with cute buildings housing antique shops, restaurants, etc. Walk (or drive) across the small bridge and you'll find yourself in New Hope, PA, which has more of the same (but maybe a little bit more than the New Jersey half... but maybe more traffic and people too).

Lahieres. There are many very good restaurants in Princeton, but this is my favorite.
You could also try the Ferry House, Mediterra, and JB Winberries for cheaper (relatively) fare.
Good service, great food. The filet mignon.
