This is very much towards the budget end of the market as far as a New York/New Jersey visit is concerned, but that is not to say that it is not worth considering. If all you require is a room for a couple of nights and don't require the services of a classier joint then this is ideal.
The rooms are clean, reasonably comfortable, continental breakfast is complimentary and fairly substantial - waffles, toast, donuts, muffins etc as well as cereal, fruit juices and vending machine coffee.
The only gripe I had was that the advertised Wi-Fi didn't work in my room but my dial-up was a local call and hence free so that wasn't too much of an inconvenience.
Whilst the hotel is not perhaps in the plushest of locations, and (despite the Super8 website's claim) is definitely Union City rather than North Bergen itself, it is an interesting and useful locale. The public transport links (buses) run both into New York and to Jersey City: the NY bus from outside the front door and the Jersey City service from Kennedy Blvd round the corner.
20 minutes and a couple of bucks on the bus and you're in Manhattan and half the price of even the cheapest place downtown!
