The beach actually closes at 6, which means the lifeguards go off duty at that time. Us locals, don't really pay attention to that. Even if the beach is "closed" to us, it's always open. But just remember, if you're going to swim after hours, I advise you are a reallllllllllllllly good swimmer ... because it turns into a swim at your own risk kind of thing. Be very careful , the ocean is very powerful !
Lately the beaches have been building up. By building up I mean outdoor bathrooms. I found some today ( they're not on every beach ) that were handicapped. They were bright orange, and for some reason on the dunes! Which I am so against. But maybe they move them up there after hours , and move them back down during the day. Kind of funny that the handicapped bathrooms are on top of the dunes ??? ironic don't cha think ? Anyway , if you are in need of a potty , please pee in a bathroom and not in the ocean :) thats why they're there !
Who wants sand in their bathing suit ? Not me ! These out door showers are great . I don't need one , since I have one in my backyard ( like most ventnor residence ) However , these are on most ventnor beaches , dont take my word for it , But I have seen a few ! They're really nice, and mostly in the touristy areas. After a nice day at the beach a refreshing shower just makes it a lot better and makes the walk/drive home a lot more relaxing!
Sand Castle Park is a childrens park located behind the ventnor libary. Its a nice playground for kids to play on and is right next to the beach ! Perfect for a mom or dad to go hang with their kid because two feet away there is a garden to sit in , and yes , you can still see your kids :)
Here is a nice garden right next to Sand Castle Park and behind the Ventnor Library, great for mom or dad who took their kids to the park nextdoor (yes you can still see your kids) and them later you can go to the library or the beach since they are both a couple feet away !
