East Magnolia Condos: An Alternative to Small Hotel Rooms
Wildwood has a variety of accommodations from which to choose including hotels and motels, B & B's, condos and private home rentals all in a variety of price ranges. Generally speaking, the closer an accommodation is to the beach and boardwalk, the more you will pay for the accommodation and prices obviously will be more expensive "in-season" or during the prime summer months (June - September) versus off-season (October - most of May).
As an alternative to high-priced, but small hotel or motel rooms, many families choose to rent condos for a week or more. The average condo will have a living and dining area, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, often a laundry room, a fully furnished and equipped kitchen with all that anyone needs to fix meals and often a terrace or balcony. Some condo complexes will also have a pool and BBQ facilities. Condos allow families a more comfortable living arrangement and also the opportunity to save money. For example, renting a condo relieves the need to rent multiple hotel rooms; meals can be prepared in the condo; having laundry facilities in the condo relieves guests of having to find a laundry off-site and pay for washing & drying; as most condos can accommodate up to 10 people and some condos can sleep even more, this type of rental allows the possibility of accommodating extended families or cost sharing between 2 families.
An additional bonus for many renters is the fact that condo owners most often provide beach chairs, an umbrella, a beach caddy and even rolling coolers for the entire week. Some owners also provide bikes depending on the amount of storage space available or beach tags if required. These types of conveniences are particularly appreciated by renters who drive from greater distances or who fly into the nearby airport.
Comforters, blankets, mattress covers, pillows and kitchen towels are provided. However, most often linens such as beach & bath towels, and bed linens other than above are not provided, though they can be rented or might be arranged by owners if guests are coming from a great distance.
The condo in the accompanying photos is only 1 block from the beach and boardwalk which is quite a perfect location.
There are several websites devoted to showcasing condos and homes for rent in all the Wildwoods and other towns at the Jersey shore:
As the spending time at the Jersey Shore is very popular and rental space is limited, visitors often secure their summer rentals up to a year in advance. Deposits are required to hold rentals. A condo rental of which such quality and location as the one featured in the accompanying photos will run approximately $2,800 per week in-season and a bonus is the condo complex also has a heated pool. While some folks from other countries may think this price is expensive, this price for a condo so close to the beach would be considered a bargain by people familiar with rentals in Wildwood. That being said, reductions in rental prices are not unheard of.
Securing accommodations close to the beach and boardwalk are important features for renters and condos/rentals which can offer this are the most in demand by renters. If the rental has a pool on the property, it is icing on the cake!

The Beach or under boardwalk: Sleep on the beach
Well, since anyone that knows Wildwood, im kidding when i said sleep on the beach. The beachcomer will rake over you and kill you. Thats if there is a competent operator of that vehicle.
50's nostalgia, lotsa skin and sand. No tag beaches on the island of Wildwood..thank god. Its the largest beach on the eat coast.
The summer help has been eastern european. There are also Irish and Scottish and Brittish. The landscaping labor is mainly spanish or mexican. This is very noticable and since i go there so often. This doent at all take away from a family experience.

renovated motel: Caribbean Motel - Real Doo Wop style
The Caribbean (featured in many architectural magazines) has new owners who have completely renovated the motel. It's simply fabulous. Anyone interested in 50s culture is sure to appreciate the preserved plastic palm trees and the "Jetsons-style" building. The rooms are fresh and clean, the pool is warm and inviting, and the gas grill adds a perfect touch to a perfect place to spend your vacation. It's only a block from Green's bike rentals and 2 blocks from the boardwalk and the promenade, so a daily bike ride is a must. I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else.

Montego Bay: Open Year Round
Montego Bay offers year round accommodations, with 1, 2, 3 and even 4 bedroom suites (not easy to find in Wildwood). Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath room was spacious, with a full kitchen and a TV in every bedroom! The hotel is conveniently located on the boardwalk, walk to the beach during the day and the boardwalk at night. Montego Bay has great weekend packages available that include breakfast and dinner in their restaurant. Food and service in the restaurant was great!
This hotel features a heated, indoor pool with giant slide, kiddie pool and hot tub, as well as an outdoor pool and sun deck. They have a restaurant, tiki bar at the indoor pool, cocktail lounge and ice cream parlor.

Wildwood Canadian Campground: No So Great Campground
This is a pretty scary place. The street sign was not lit. We got there around 9pm and the campground is very dark, except for one spot light on the office. Thankfully, the owner reduced his nightly rate when we said we did not want to use any of the facilities.
A "permanent" resident told us to avoid the showers and pool areas. They were broken and very foul due to some nasty people that had been there earlier in the season. There were 15 toilets broken and a sign reminding people to flush!
It was scary looking and reminded me of a teenage horror movie. I even expected Jason to hop out and get me. Good thing the nearby Wawa had restrooms.

Midtown Motel: Great Motel in Wildwood
Stayed 3 nights over the weekend in late August in a 1BR suite w/kitchenette. Location was great...only 2 blocks from prime Boardwalk area! Room, office, pool were all VERY clean. Pool was sparkling & usually busy. Would definitely stay here again & recommend to others. Cost was reasonable for peak season.
Staff was very friendly & helpful. Free coffee/tea & newspaper poolside each morning. Highly recommend trying Maureen's...a martini restaurant/lounge directly behind motel.

There is a heated pool, wading lake, basketball court, nice miniature golf course, pavillion, and it is located right down the road from the shore. The Cape May zoo is also very near-it's great for kids who want to see exotic animals like Lions Tigers and Bears oh my!

Take your pick: Wildwood has all kinds of choices
Wildwood has all kinds of accomodations, hotels, motels, house rentals, hostals, etc. Do not just 'show up' in Wildwood during the summer hoping to find a place. Make reservations far in advance, as places get booked up pretty quick in Wildwood. Also, you can not 'crash' on the beach or under the Boardwalk- you'll get busted and end up in jail.

Used to stay at the Nantucket...
Used to stay at the Nantucket in the 60's and 70's until the Thiele's sold it.
We've also stayed at the Midtown, Lincoln, Granada and Caprice in WW (Caprice is very clean) and stayed in a plethora of places in WWC. I prefer WW to 'the crest' because I'd rather walk to the boards and attractions. We will be staying at Beach Terrace this year and I'm looking forward to that... anyone stayed there in the past, please email me.
Very straightforward, no-nonsense management. Nice, clean, reasonably priced place.
