Left a day early

Bad (2.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on September 8, 2012

Was expecting a rather nice set up but was somewhat disappointed right up front....the coffee service was shoved on the desk behind where we needed to put the computer, bathroom was small but the real topper was the air conditioning unit that sounded like a jet engine, that turned on and off all night long. Both of us woke up exhausted after having been woken up throughtout the night. We were able to hear water and doors above and below.

Was really disappointed because we had really been looking forward to the stay. When the tram was unexpectedly down for maintenance, we saw no need in living through another evening in this room and left a day earlier than we had originally planned.

There is a free shuttle service that we tried to used. We were in old town and it started to rain. We spent about 15 minutes trying to find a number to call to no avail and walked back in the rain.
The numbers on line and in the information were all incorrect.

Needless to say, we had a disappointing end to what had been a rather nice little trip.

The front desk staff was very accomadating when we showed up so I do give them that.

Directions: Right off I-40, 2 1/2 blocks from Old Town

Best Western Rio Grande Inn

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on February 23, 2004

I was booked into this hotel as part of my coach tour down Route 66 and found it a perfectly acceptable hotel close to Interstate 40

Noise was not a problem for me as I had a room at the rear and I did not hear any complaints on this score from my travelling companions

Within 5/10 minutes walk of the historic Old Town, Albuquerque

All the usual amenities available

Unique Quality:
During my stay they had a bar manager (Susie) who kept us amused after my group returned from our various evening activities. If you drop in, say hi!
