Clubhouse Inn and Suites

by thejule

Does anyone know if this is a good hotel for a one night stay? How is the location? It seems to have good reviews on another travel board but I can't find anything on this site. Thanks.

You did not say what you were going to do while your here. If your just going to stay the night, that area is OK. And your a short drive to anywhere in the city from that area. I have never stayed at the hotel but it looks new. Just east on Manual you will find a lot of hotels and places to eat. Enjoy your stay.

Thanks for your reply. We will be coming back from visiting the Santa Fe and Taos areas. This will be the tail end of our trip so we wanted a place close to the airport with reasonable rates. Hopefully, we will be able to see the things around Albuquerque on our front leg of the trip and end of our trip.

Actually after doing a little research on this hotel, it really sounds like a good choice unless you are afraid of ghosts (it is near a large cemetery). Seriously, it is a good choice. Normally I would not recommend a location west of I-25 and near downtown, but I think the Clubhouse Inn is probably fine. A quick check on Travelocity showed uniformly high recommendations and a good price. If you go west on Menaul to Rio Grande Blvd., it is not that far to Old Town. If you east on Menaul, it is not that far to the new ABQ Uptown area (Albuquerque's "Scottsdale"). A quick trip up I-25 to the Alameda Exit (then west) will get you to the Balloon Fiesta Museum. Also, it is not very far south on I-25 to reach the airport. With a free hot breakfast and evening happy hours, I think you have made a "find." Please let us know how you liked it.

Travel Tips for Albuquerque

The only good thing about...

by Noogamamma

The only good thing about Albuquerque is the night time skys and Block Party which is a big Arcade and playground for adults...If you are in the area, stop by...

The only other thing I like is all the Native American culture and pow-wows you can find the dates and stuff for from their Chamber of Commerce http://www.cabq.gov/

MONEY

by lemon4juice

MOISTURIZER. Always bring moisturizer with you. The air is so dry. Money - always ensure that you have VISA/Master Card, or travellers check or US Dollars. Because at the ABQ airport they don't have currency exchanger. But I'm not sure if taxi's do accept check or card, prepare cash instead.

Guadalupe Gorge and Tunnels

by AlbuqRay

Continuing north on State Highway 4 you will find a turnoff to the west. It crosses a bridge across the Jemez River just below the confluence with the Guadalupe River. Continue up the road until you come to the tunnels and gorge. The tunnels were originally built for a small logging railroad, which is long gone. If you have a license, you may fish for trout here or anywhere else in the two rivers.

Home Of The Taco Nazi

by rewing about La Mariachi

If you've seen the Seinfeld featuring "The Soup Nazi" this place is close, in a good way......When the menu say's no changes then it means no changes, so don't ask of no chips for you!! This is a great place and the food is very very good New Mexican. Everything so far has been perfect

NOT FOR VEGANS

by tunisianhick about The Dog House

Foot longs or burgers with green or red. Only the heathiest ingredients go inside these hot dog casings. You can have the dogs topped with onions, and organic (i think) american cheese(Kraft Singles). The fries are special as well. I hear they may very well be kind of healthful. If you're feeling under dressed, u can stay in your car and have the pretty Dog House ladies come out to take your order.
