You can't go wrong with Marriott. This beautiful hotel is located in Uptown Albuquerque and is within walking distance of two major malls, several restaurants and movie theaters. If you've got the money to spend, the Marriott will be happy to accommodate you.
Unique Quality: Excellent View of the Sandia Mountains, depending on which side of the hotel you stay in
Directions: In Uptown Albuquerque, right off Interstate 40.
Located north of the Louisiana Exit on I-40, the Uptown area is the currrent population center of Albuquerque (that is why "uptown" exists). It is nicer than downtown, and is the location for two large malls, Coronado Center and ABQ Uptown. The Uptown area has many hotels and restaurants (this link has a map). My Lab's business visitors usually stay at one of the hotels in the Uptown area. There are many hotel options and several of them are new. The Marriott is the oldest (but still nice) and the Hilton Garden Inn Uptown is the latest to open. Coronado Center is Albuquerque's largest mall and ABQ Uptown is Albuquerque's newer but lesser version of Old Scottsdale in Phoenix. Since Uptown is located on I-40, it is an easy drive west to the Old Town area or you may head east on Menaul Blvd. and then north on Tramway Blvd. to get to the base of the Sandia Peak Tramway. Santa Fe is about an hour's drive on I-40 West, then I-25 North.
