This is a standard higher-end Marriott hotel. The service is excellent and the employees are very friendly and helpful as you would expect from a hotel of this class. We stayed in a King room that was very clean. Turndown service was offered nightly and they left the next days weather forecast on a card to help you plan your next day.
We were on the Concierge Level and Continental Breakfast was included except for the weekends.
Unique Quality: For the Balloon Fiesta, the Hotel will charter a shuttle to get you there. It was $30.00 round trip and that included admission to the Fiesta which I believe is $20.00. Previously we had driven to the Mall and taken a bus in. I'd rather leave straight from the Hotel.
Tip: If you are staying here for the Balloon Fiesta, Try and book a room on the 9th floor (or 10th) facing north. We booked room 917 and the photo is from our window watching the morning ascension. You will also get a good view of the fireworks at night. The Ascension takes some time so you can eat breakfast in your room and watch them lift off.
Balloon Fiesta Park is only about 5 minutes away from the Hotel (traffic dependant of course).
Directions: About 5 minutes from Balloon Fiesta Park. If you take the Paseo del Norte Exit off 25 and head west to the Pan American then head south you will find the hotel on your right.
This is the hotel where the eleven Texas Democrats sought asylum while the Republicans were trying to steal their seats back in Texas.
Unique Quality: Close to Balloon Fiesta field.
Directions: Journal Center
