More about Chocolate Turtle Bed and Breakfast

A little piece of Heaven

by TripAdvisor Member matman2163

My wife picked this place out as a nice gesture for a place to celebrate our 9 year anniversary. What a great find. It's a beautiful adobe home run by two of the nicest people you could meet. The view out back of the Sandia Mountains is one that is truly awe inspiring. Nancy and Dallas made us feel welcome immediately and we had a hectic adveturesome week planned. We were doing everything from hot air ballooning to white water rafting. The hot air balloon adventure meant that we had to be out of the B & B by 5 a.m. Nancy got up and made sure we had some fruit and some yogurt smoothies to eat, since we wouldn't be there for breakfast....How thoughtful can you be?? The assisted in great recommendations for dinner and places of interest. Also the last day of our stay, Nancy made some Chocolate Turtle French toast that was out of this world. If your ever in Albuquerque, look for the Chocolate Turtle bed and breakfast, You'll be glad you did.

Wonderful B & B

by TripAdvisor Member sunshine7011

My husband and I spent two nights at the Chocolate Turtle earlier this month as part of a trip to Santa Fe and Taos (we live in NYC). It is a delightful place to stay, spacious and intimate at the same time. Our room had its own small terrace with a view of the Sandia Mountains; the house itself has a large beautifully planted patio/back yard area open to guests, looking out on the same mountains. We enjoyed a wonderful sunset out there with quail, a road-runner, and little jack-rabbits wandering through. With only four guest rooms and a very hospitable ambience you do get to chat with your fellow-guests, it was quite lovely. Breakfasts are generous and seem to be varied from one day to the next; I needed something plainer and the hosts accommodated me graciously. There is a guest refrigerator well stocked with beverages, and snacks available for all. The bed was comfortable, the bath lovely (stall shower only, but large, with a nice built-in bench, and a window) and everything was clean and working well, and well-thought out for guests' convenience. Everyone I had contact with was most helpful with suggestions and directions. It was convenient to the airport and local attractions without being in the city itself. We recommend it.

A Fabulous Stay at the Chocolate Turtle

The Chocolate Turtle is a delightful bed and breakfast in Corrales, New Mexico. As soon as you enter the inviting front door, you are made to feel welcome and comfortable with lovely, colorful southwest furnishings and accents. Your hosts, Nancy and Dallas, are so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They are detail-oriented and really go out of their way to make sure your visit is perfect.

Every morning a gourmet breakfast is served {with special dietary considerations accommodated, if necessary} and there are snacks and drinks available throughout the day. In the evening, there are always baked goodies to be sampled--perfect with a cup of tea.

The rooms are very well appointed with comfy robes and quality bath products. The common areas of the house include a cozy breakfast area and a great room with a television and computer access. The very best area of the house is the spacious back porch and patio where you can watch the sunset on Sandia mountain and check out all the wildlife including roadrunners, quail and bunnies. Breakfast is served outdoors when the weather is nice.

The Chocolate Turtle is an outstanding property with exceptional hosts who seem to truly love their home and sharing it with guests who quickly come to feel like friends.

Loved the Chocolate Turtle B&B

by TripAdvisor Member MichelleCleveland_OH

What a wonderful oasis! We spent a week at the Chocolate Turtle Bed & Breakfast in Corrales, New Mexico. It was simply delightful!

We found the B&B from their Internet website and they had completely truthful advertising and photos. Corrales is a small rural community between Albuquerque and Santa Fe, making it a perfect location for a B&B: close enough to the airport and attractions, yet far enough from the feel of a big city.

The breakfasts were delicious and varied. No one left the table hungry! The home itself very inviting and immaculate and Dallas & Nancy were accommodating, caring & concerned hosts. We greatly appreciated their helpful suggestions when we asked about local restaurants, local sites, etc.

For the last part of our stay, our hosts needed to be away and arranged for Don and Caryl as "inn-sitters" who also were just great--

We hope to return to New Mexico and specifically to the Chocolate Turtle B&B!

The Chocolate Turtle is like home away from home.

We found this delightful B & B through Google Earth. Just outside of Albuquerque in Corrales, The Chocolate Turtle is close to many attractions in the area. And if you aren't sure what to do with your time, owners, Dallas and Nancy, are pleased to offer suggestions. The recommendation to visit the Acoma Pueblo was perfect. We felt at home and relaxed in this beautifully appointed adobe B & B. Tasty breakfast is served outside, weather permitting. We enjoyed watching the wildlife, especially the roadrunner who rountinely comes up to the house for pieces of raw hamburger. Beverages are available throughout the day as well as snacks and freshly baked sweets in the afternoon. Internet is also available. We enjoyed the hospitality offered by Dallas and Nancy. We highly recommend this gem and would not consider ever staying anywhere but The Chocolate Turtle. Can't wait to visit again!!!

The Best

by TripAdvisor Member Nanatravels

We had a wonderful experience at The Turtle. Until our stay there we had a "favorite" B&B in another city. The Turtle took over first place. Dallas & Nancy do everything right. The accomodations are very comfortable; the breakfasts were delicious, presented beautifully. They truly made us feel at home. The views from the patio are spectacular, especially the sunsets. We're already planning our next visit to The Turle.

Fun at the Chocolate Turtle

Absolutely wonderful stay!! Very comfortable and restful. The common areas of the B&B are well appointed and you do not feel as if your are in the owner's living room. It really feels yours. The quail, roadrunners, and bunnies are great, and the view to Sandia mountain is beautiful at sunset. Finally, the gourmet breakfasts cannot be beat. My wife, a good cook of her own, was just as pleased. P.S. - Corrales is quaint with a Taos-like feel, very surprising given ABQ is no near.

Highly Recommend The Chocolate Turtle

I cannot say enough great things about the Chocolate Turtle. I had a great stay over a long weekend in June. Nancy, the owner was a friendly and gracious hostess, and made the best breakfasts I've ever had (a different one each morning of my stay). The B&B was clean and inviting, and had a wonderful view overlooking the Sandia Mountains. We could even see some hot air baloons floating by in the early morning. From the patio, we were entertained by roadrunners (yes, they're real), quail, cotton tail rabbits, hummingbirds, lizards. I would definitely recommend The Chocolate Turtle, and will re-book when I travel back to Corralles.

Loved It!

This was a great place to stay while in the ABQ. The views are great, the hosts are wonderful and the breakfasts are amazing especially if your outdoors. Only problem is that it is a bit tempting to never leave.

Relax at the Turtle

by TripAdvisor Member travelingteacher08

What can I say about the Turtle. It was wonderful. The food was excellent and the company pleasent. This was my mother's first time at a B&B. She had no idea what to expect. Needless to say, she is ready to go back. So am I. The view from the back is spectacular. And if you want a little nature, just wait for the roadrunners, quail, and rabbits. It is just outside of Albuquerque which has many activities and attractions.
