We were tired...
When we arrived, we were greeted very nicely, one thing I have come to like at a Best Western. The lobby was very nice, the continental breakfast was here in the lobby...it was adequate. What you would come to expect, you got waffles and hard boiled eggs, donuts, cereal, toast, coffee (depending on what YOU call coffee) and juices. And the hotel is conveniently located for local attractions...
From the lobby it went downhill. The first thing I found was the security door on the side of the building, which has the card swipe lock, was purposely propped open...and at 10:30 at night, didn't think it said much for the hotel safety. Once in the hallway, I think I figured out why the door was propped open. It SMELLED horrible in the hallway...first floor only.
Hey...no elevator? Our room was on the second floor, but the staircase is narrow, making it even more difficult to carry baggage up.
Unique Quality: You know the saying..."you get what you pay for?" It applies here. The shody craftsmenship of the last "remodel" was definetly a bargain.
The plumbing's a nightmare. The toilet wasn't set propoerly, causing it to run...slowly and for a long time. The shower diverter also wasn't properly installed, so more water ran out the faucet while the shower was running then the shower head. The tub didn't drain. Guess they like high water bills and water wastage in the desert, eh?
The bed...well...it was OK...for a seedy hotel. We were tired, so we could've slept on the pavement...felt like I did upon waking up.
The coffee in the room? Yikes...I couldn't even drink it...it was horrible.
