The Visit
Ruidoso is such a beautiful quaint little town. If you are looking for night life then don't even visit New Mexico. Stores close before six and don't open until nine or ten. Ski Apache was great even though there wasn't much snow.We took a shuttle up there. The road is steep and narrow. The employees are so nice. The food is not good at all. Take your own snacks and drinks. The lockers are only fifty cents to rent. We went to Lincoln County Grill and they have good food. The girl that took our order didn't speak, smile or offer service so if you don't mind bad service go there for the burgers. For pizza we went to Cafe Rio which was great. The service and food were worth the wait for a table. Casa Blanca was highly recommended and we went there on our last night. It was very busy so go early. Once again, the service was not great. Make sure to check your charge if you use a debit or credit card. They tend to double bill your bank. I am still waiting for reimbursement of eighty dollars. Go to the pistachio farm and white sands. That was worth the drive. You can also taste wine made in the area. The Inn of The Mountain Gods was the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen. That is a must to see even if you don't gamble. You can even take your kids if you just want to eat. There are seperate areas for gambling. Our visit was a good one. We stayed four nights which was all we needed.
