We booked the junior suite at Hotel Plaza Real, which provided us a cozy sitting room with sofa, side and coffee tables, desk, tv and fireplace (which was prepared each evening by a member of the hotel staff), refrigerator, coffeemaker, King size down covered bed and small bathroom. The hotel has 44 suites and 12 guestrooms, each with a southwest decor. After checking in at the lobby, the rooms are accessed by a courtyard which extends between the two story structure. The lobby has a warm, colorful Mexican tile floor and comfortable seating area wisely stationed by the rustic fireplace. A lounge is located off the lobby, where one can get hot cocoa, glass of wine or a margarita. The hotel does not have a dining area, but next door is the luxurious Inn of the Anasazi where you can have a luscious breakfast, lunch or dinner. Hotel Plaza Real was only a block from the central plaza alongwhich many shops, restaurants, museums and galleries were located. We highly recommend this hotel for its amenities and its convenient location!! It snowed and got a bit icy on one of the days we visited, which did not affect our plans in the least since everything we wanted to see was within this area. Additional pictures show the junior suite with sitting room, courtyard and lobby area.

 | | | | Vacation rental on Hillside Avenue: Interior of Santa Fe home | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
This photo shows the living room of the house we rented in Santa Fe. Since we had our two teenagers in tow, renting a house was perfect for this vacation. We were within walking distance of downtown Santa Fe, but our teenagers didn't always want to head downtown every time we wanted to. Having a house made it possible for them to just hang out at the house, read, watch TV, do the things teenagers prefer to do, as opposed to tag along with their parents on another sightseeing excusion. This home is available through The Management Group (property #377).
The house was modern but built in typical Santa Fe style. In both the living room and the family room upstairs were Santa Fe style kiva fireplaces. The kiva fireplace is immensely popular in Santa Fe and is modeled after the kiva fireplaces built in the native pueblos. The house had everything we could ever need for our stay - a well-equipped kitchen with a large supply of dishes, cooking equipment and glasses. I was particularly impressed by the extensive collection of Cutco knives. There were 2 plasma TVs, a stereo, 3 bedrooms, lots of pillows and even wireless high speed internet access. | | | | Rental home on Hillside Avenue: There's no place like home | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
When we travel with our teenage son and daughter, we like to rent homes because the total cost often ends up being less expensive than two hotel rooms. The kids have space to hang out and we can all relax together in the evening, watching movies, eating ice cream or playing games.
We rented a 3 bedroom home from The Management Group. Like most homes, it was built in the typical Santa Fe adobe style. The home was beautifully decorated in Southwestern style. It had every comfort of home and then some. The location was also perfect. We were only about 5 blocks away from downtown Santa Fe and about 3 blocks away from Canyon Road. When I am on vacation, I'll usually chart out a favorite running route. From this house on Hillside Avenue, each morning I would run out to Canyon Road, along the river, up Copper Canyon Road, past the college and up a residential road on the side of the mountain for an incredible view of Santa Fe. The company that managed the rental of this home, The Management Group, was very professional. They carry a very good inventory of vacation rentals. I will definitely use them again. | | | | Las Palomas: Associated with the Inn of the Anasazi Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
This is a wonderful place to stay. Upon check-in, the staff offered up freshly baked chocolate chip cookies from a tagine. Their lobby has a nice sitting area with leather sofas and chairs, a fireplace, videos to rent and plenty of books and magazines to read. The surrounding grounds were lovely. From 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. each morning, a complimentary deluxe Continental Breakfast is available for guests in a communal dining area. This includes croissants, bagels, muffins, butter, cream cheese, cereal, fruit, waffles, coffee, milk and juices. If rain is in the forecast, the staff will gladly loan you an umbrella. In the off-season (early December), my rate was $99.00 plus tax per night.
Las Palomas offers two types of rooms: Pueblo (featuring wood-burning kiva fireplaces and more Native American influenced decor) and Territorial (featuring gas-lit stove fireplaces and more contemporary Southwestern style decor). My Territorial room was of a decent size and tastefully decorated. | | | | Inn at Loretto: My favorite hotel in Santa Fe Compare Rates NEW! | Tip Rating: Satisfaction: | | | | |
I've stayed at two other comparably priced and located hotels, the Hilton and the Eldorado. While the Eldorado is lovely, and I get comped for the great breakfast at the Hilton, the Inn at Loretto is, hands down, my favorite.
It's an incredibly nicely decorated hotel, without being stuffy. The staff is professional, without being too fawning. I've never slept as well in a hotel as I sleep here. All the rooms have doors that lead either to a small balcony or patio. As I smoker, I stay on the first floor, and the room I always get/request, 102, opens up to a patio with wooden furniture, right next to the pool with the sculpture garden. I never can believe that while I'm there, I'm actually there for work!
