countryside in the heart of Santa Fe

One of the nicest hotel in this charming city. even if located off the Plaza it is quiet.

The rooms are decorated southwest and some even have a Kiva.

Taking breakfast in the outside patio is a very good way to start a day !

Unique Quality: it is located at a 2 min walf from the plaza and it has parking space (quite valuable in downtown Santa Fe)

Great hotel!

by TripAdvisor Member filmgeek

We stayed at the Anasazi for two nights and were very pleased. The location can't be beat, right next to the plaza, and the fireplace in the library kept us warm on those cold December nights. The staff was courteous and helpful, and the complimentary Fiji waters, snacks in room at turn down, and wireless internet access were a nice bonus (I'm one of those people who hate to pay $15 for internet access after dropping several hundred dollars on a hotel room!).

We also had dinner in the Anasazi restaurant, and it was excellent. Pricey, but the best meal we had in town.

One warning though - use your alarm not their wake-up calls. The first day our wake-up call was 15 minutes late and the next day, they never called!

Hope to go Back

We flew from San Francisco to meet friends who were taking a road trip around the Southwest. We all enjoyed the hotel. It is tastefully decorated with VERY comfortable beds. The staff was friendly...the concierge was cheerful and very knowlegeable. The restaurant is expensive, but for our first night we splurged and had a great meal. There are plenty of less expensive dining options on the Plaza which is steps away.We had a standard room on the second floor...nice size and spa-like bath.Next trip we'll get a suite and take advantage of the bar menu.

Lovely, relaxing stay

by TripAdvisor Member AZPamela

We made reservations on the internet for accommodations and received a confirmation email requesting our arrival time so that they could prepare our room. We were greeted at the frontdesk with absolutely flawless attention to the details we requested for our room, and they had in fact prepared our room with ice in the ice bucket as were checking in at 5:30pm.
We stayed in room 325 and it was beautiful. The coffee maker in the room came with freshly ground coffee, either regular or decaf, and complimentary dairy cream in the room's refrigerator. The room had all the amenities of a luxury hotel, housekeeping visited the room twice during the day, with a complimentary sweet (brownies, cookies) at the turndown service. Robes, slippers, gas-kiva fireplace, portable humidifier, very, very comfortable bed.
What was most delightful was the demeanor of all workers at the hotel. From the valets, who were among the most efficient that I've ever experienced, to the front desk, who always had the most genuine happy greetings, to the housekeeping staff, to the restaurant wait staff, everyone was relaxed and professional. This is a beautiful establishment and a great delight to visit.

Only Regret Was That We Stayed Only One Night

by A TripAdvisor Member

I admit I am very spoiled and like my creature comforts. We were going to stay in another Inn at Santa Fe; however, switched at the last minute because the other Inn was getting poor reviews on TripAdvisor and the Inn at the Anasazi was getting great reviews. I was not disappointed. The Inn at the Anasazi was wonderful in every way. Cozy elegance. Meticulously clean. The staff were delightful. Housekeeping even set up a fresh humifier in the rooms at turndown, along with evening treats.... Only regret was that we could only stay one night. However, as soon as I can get back to Santa Fe -- I will book another stay at the Inn of Anasazi.

Horrible Anasazi experience

by A TripAdvisor Member

My wife and I have visited Santa Fe dozens of times and stayed at most of the higher end hotels over the years. We planned our 25th wedding anniversary trip to Santa Fe and booked a deluxe room at the Anasazi. Upon arriving, we were escorted to a dreary semi-suite with a dirty loveseat and surprisingly dull colors, considering the vibrancy of Santa Fe's art scene. I had requested a balcony; none were available upon check-in- the Anasazi's advertising does not mention that there are only two deluxe balconies in the hotel. Our room was in the back, had no view and faced an alley and parking lots of Washington Ave. businesses. Upon entering, we noticed the temperature was very warm, the valet promised to 'turn up' the A/C- when we contacted the front desk, we were informed that the A/C was 'out' and would not be on for at least two days! Later, we discovered that the A/C had been out for two days prior to our arrival; outside temperatures were averaging in the high 80's. Eva, at the front desk, was extremely helpful in finding us a beautiful suite at La Fonda's 'La Terraza' concierge floor- which I would highly recommend. It is unconscionable that for $400 per night, the Anasazi made no effort to contact us re: the lack of A/C in the hotel- and we had booked weeks in advance. We had the same experience with the restaurant- only discovering the lack of A/C upon arriving two days after the alleged 'fix' date! We will return to Santa Fe- we will never return to the Inn of the Anasazi. Anyone can understand mechanical problems- what I can't accept is the unprofessional manner in which the Anasazi dealth with the problem.

Its good looks are deceiving ~ don't bother

I regret we chose to spend our honeymoon here. Santa Fe has much better to offer.

What worked really well: The valets and bellmen were great from the moment we arrived to the time we left.

I wish I could say the rest of the staff were even remotely warm and/or thoughtful. They weren't. They could have cared less it was our honeymoon or that we'd chosen the Inn over other fine options available. The room, while tastefully appointed, with wonderful smelling soaps and potions was small, dark, crowded with furniture and overpriced.

This is a fine 3 star hotel and a very disappointing 4-5 star.

Feedback to the management resulted in nothing, which is absolutely consistent with the lack of care we experienced throughout our stay -- again, valets and bellmen, excepted.

The Perfect Place to Stay in Santa Fe

by TripAdvisor Member kcscout

What a lovely experience! Perfect location (quiet street half-block off the Plaza). Exquisite decor in the public spaces -- vigas, kivas, comfortable leather sofas, books -- just the way you'd like your own home to look if you could afford it. Concierge and front desk couldn't have been more helpful. There is a charge for valet parking, but the staff had the car available in about 1 minute. Truly more like an inn than a hotel. We stayed in the lowest priced room, and it was great, with its own kiva fireplace. Class, comfort and location.
