More about Madeleine Inn

Fabulous and quaint

by TripAdvisor Member demingellie

The Madeleine B&B is a dream for travelers who search for a balance between being pampered and privacy. This gorgeous historical three story home is walking distance to the city Plaza and to Canyon Road. The owner and staff have seen to your every whim with an onsite serene spa, fabulous breakfasts inside or on the sunsplashed patio and yummy treats in the lobby and dining room all day long. We parked our car near our room and walked every day into town. Ah, but our room was the best! For folks who like classy funk, the upstairs attic room is spacious with one room to sleep in and a lovely sitting room with narrow french door opening to your private spiral staircase to the street below. I woke early and slipped out to do my morning jog along the river and Canyon Road. The Madeleine is elegant, quiet, meditative and fun. I cannot wait to return!

Cozy, Warm, and Wonderful

As we were first timers in Santa Fe in town for The Wine & Chile Festival, a friend booked our stay for us at The Madeleine. We arrived at the inn with absolutely zero expectations. From the start, we were impressed. From our very first contact with the onsite day manager, who made personal arrangements for us to accommodate our late arrival, to the moment we said goodbye to Kevin two days later, we received nothing but helpful, gracious, and professional treatment. Our room was charming, clean, and boasted one of the most comfortable beds in which I have ever slept. The inn, adjoining spa, and surrounding gardens were beautiful, pristine, and featured interesting period and historical detail and decor. The inn is located on a quiet cul-de-sac but within walking distant of shopping, great restaurants, and art galleries. The complimentary breakfast, served across the street in an equally cozy and inviting spot, was homemade and served warm to the table at either of the 8am or 9am seatings. We liked that we could interact family style with other guests or choose a spot to enjoy a private meal. We were served spinach frittata one day and quiche lorraine the next; both were delicious. Homemade granola, fresh-squeezed orange juice, fresh coffee, muffins, and more were also provided. [Yes, we are fervent fans of good food]. The only things we would change about our stay: ask for a room upstairs as we were in the room just off the lobby and kitchen, make sure to eat more of Kevin's scrumptuous homemade cookies, and perhaps indulge in a treatment or two at their award-winning spa.

Best experience in Santa Fe

We had a wonderful time in Santa Fe and the surrounding areas. The Madeleine B&B could not have been any better with its perfect location, walking distance to the old town, the friendly staff and the excellent breakfasts. Kevine one of the cooks there was exceptional in helping us find the best restaurants, hikes and sites around town. He even made us cookies to take along on one of our picnics.

A great stay at Madeleine Inn

by TripAdvisor Member margiemhu

My husband & I spent two nights recently at The Madeleine Inn. We really enjoyed our stay. We found the room (Hyacinth) to be very comfortable and inviting. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed the complimentary wine and cheese served in the late afternoon. The courtyard of Hacienda Nicholas is a beautiful, relaxing spot for a glass of wine. Also, we highly recommend the Absolute Nirvana spa located at The Madeline. My husband had a 90 minute massage and I had the brown sugar and papaya treatment. Both were wonderful. Great spa atmosphere, very professional staff, no ringing phones or distracting noises. We can't wait to go back!

Wonderful Warmth and Charm

We were looking for a quite, romantic place to spend our 10th Anniversary and we found it! Located at the end of a small cul-de-sac within walking distance to The Plaza, the Madeleine was right in the center of Santa Fe with easy access to anywhere in town. The owners made sure that we had everything we needed without being intrusive. The breakfasts were delicious and convenient with 2 serving times. Our room was cozy with a very comfortable bed and a private bath. Although we were right off the main room there was never any noise. Our spa time at Absolutely Nirvana was exceptional. Susan and Loren were very friendly, warm, and professional. I can see why it has been rated so highly by Conde Nast. As we didn't come close to doing and seeing everything in Santa Fe, we look forward to our next stay in the future. Thanks again.

a piece of heaven in Sante Fe

by TripAdvisor Member AuntBanana

I recently visited Sante Fe for the first time due to a niece's wedding. I wanted a place near their home and also near the Sante Fe Plaza. I found this B&B based on other reviews on TripAdvisor. It was perfect--a room with the most comfortable bed, private bath, and it was in a wonderfully quiet, peaceful location.
The entire staff was marvelous & extremely helpful. Kevin's cookies were the best treat to come 'home' to each day. The breakfast dishes were outstanding! It was wonderful to have herbal teas or coffee along with treats & fruit available all throughout the day. Each evening there is wine and cheese along with a great chance to socialize with other guests.
Even though my husband was not able to accompany me on this trip, it was one of the most relaxing, fun trips I have every had!
(amd I ran into Shirley McLaine twice!)

Fabulous Stay!

by TripAdvisor Member Travelingfool11

Madeleine Inn is an enchanting place to spend a relaxing weekend. The Inn Keeper, Kevin, is a fabulous host, greeting you each morning with a friendly smile.

We arrived shortly before 1pm and Kevin met us in the parking lot and showed us into the inn and to our room. He gave us fresh molasses cookies right out of the oven with just a mention of the lovely aroma that pervaded the front room upon entering.

The inn is an old Victorian house from 1800's. The decor is Victorian filled with antiques and lots of charm. We stayed in the Geranium room which included modern ammenities like a small flat screen tv on the dresser and an in-room sink with mirror. The room also had a private bath across the hall. The total cost/night was $113. 73.

The inn also has the Nirvana spa. Although we were not able to take advantage of the spa on this trip, I was able to speak with Sharon, the manager of the spa, about its ammenities and services. It is something we'll seek out on our next trip. I did purchase some of the spa products!

Breakfast is served in the Hacienda next door. The Hacienda is warm and inviting with both dining tables and sofa furniture. A daily newspaper is supplied as well as fresh, homemade breakfast goodies!

The fresh-baked quiche is delicious ~ thanks Annie! Banana bread, zucchini bread, cobbler, breakfast cake, cereal & yogurt, fresh fruit and a choice of juices and coffee were available.

Beginning at 5pm at the Hacienda, is a wine and cheese gathering. You have a choice of select red or white wine and an assortment of cheese and crackers. It is a great place to meet new people also staying on the property. I sat outside in one of the comfortable wooden chairs with a glass of wine and a plate of cheeses and within minutes was joined by other guests for a delightful conversation.

I felt totally taken care of right down to suggestions on exploring Santa Fe! Kevin even made our dinner reservations and provided helpful information on the local establishments.

If you are looking for a relaxing get-away in Santa Fe, consider the Madeleine Inn for all its charm and wonderful service!

Great little B&B close to the center of Santa Fe

by TripAdvisor Member caroleweller

A great little B&B, 3 blocks from the Plaza in Santa Fe. About 8 rooms, spacious and very friendly. Free cookies, tea and coffee all day; the cookies are fabulous. Breakfast served across the road in a sister inn. Very quiet.

Give the Madeleine a try - you won't be disappointed!

by TripAdvisor Member nancy528

We had a lovely weekend at this charming property. We were originally attracted to this room by the description of the in-room fireplace, and we were not disappointed. The logs were prepared for us daily; all we had to do was light the newspaper and within minutes we had a cozy fire. Breakfast was delicious each day as well - I will long remember Sunday's cherry cobbler and quiche Lorraine. Another nice thing about this property is its proximity to Santa Fe's square - it is an easy 3-block walk to the plaza. Carolyn, the owner, could not have been a more gracious hostess. The on-site spa, Nirvana, provided a slice of heaven, too. All in all, a terrific place to spend a weekend and I would definitely stay there again.

Madelline Inn - great choice for Santa Fe

by TripAdvisor Member EmptyNesterTravels

Really enjoyed staying here. the location is perfect, walking distance to all of the sites in Santa Fe, as well as some of the better resteurants. Although centrally located, very, very quiet.

Kevin's cookies are great, although the breakfasts could use some improvements. The afternoon wine and snacks are very good.
Great staff, willing to make recommendations and reserve your spot for dinner.
