Great Find

As reported on other Silver City VT pages, this is a must do! Great location right in the center of the historic district, VERY reasonable prices, interesting authentic 1800s hotel.

Unique Quality: Very convenient to historic district... literally around the corner. Authentic old hotel, but quite comfortable.

The coolest place to stay in town

Every old Southwestern town needs a hotel like this.
The Palace is a great place to stay in Silver City. It's the only hotel Downtown, right on Bullard Street in the mix of it all (the other hotels are generally a couple of miles to the east). It's right above a coffee shop (which also means that you can pick up their free wi-fi in some rooms), two doors down from the famous Buffalo Bar, right down the street from several other restaurants and bars, and just a few blocks from WNMU.
The Palace is an old hotel, so you miss out on some creature comforts like central a/c and heat, carpetting and large rooms, but it's a very clean and homey, and even has a small cable TV.
Their rates are reasonable, and there is free breakfast in the morning. Provided there isn't something big going on, you'll almost always be able to get a room off the street.
The only downside would be the noise on the weekends. Bullard Street is a favorite for cruisers, and those stereos can get pretty loud.

Visit Silver City. Stay at the Palace.

Unique Quality: Historic atmosphere, great location, very friendly staff

A Bargain!

Built in 1882, the Palace is a little faded in spots but you would be too if you were that age. Note: not for the disabled, as all rooms are up a flight of stairs and no elevator is available. Located mere feet from the main downtown street, Bullard St.

Unique Quality: The most expensive room in the house is under $60 and continental breakfast is included. Rooms are small but comfy, with phone, TV, ceiling fan, refrig. (in some rooms) and ancient plumbing. A wonderful low-cost alternative to the dull chain motels on the edge of town.
