FABULOUS Taos B&B

This place is fabulous and I can't imagine any nicer place to stay in Taos. They don't advertise because they get tons of business from word of mouth travel. I almost hesitate to write a review here. It's conveniently located on Kit Carson road right down the street from the Plaza, nestled amongst art galleries and fabulous gift stores. The rooms are very, very nice-- most of them with kiva fireplaces and beautiful touches here and there including down comforters, TVs w/ DVD & video players, antique furnishings, a couple hot tubs, etc.. The main building is filled with gorgeous original works of art, and the building itself is a work of art. It was designed and built by the owners and is beautifully furnished & decorated. But, I would say the best part of staying there is the amazing breakfasts that they serve as a part of your stay. You have a choice of homemade egg dishes or -- this is the best -- their granola. Their granola is TO DIE FOR. If Krispe Kremes are the crack of the South (as per Chris Rock, the comedian), then the Casa Benavides' homemade granola is the crack of Taos. OMG... I dream about their food! If breakfast isn't good enough, then come back at 4 pm for "tea and cookies" where they lay out about a dozen plates of home made cookies, muffins and other delightful treats. I probably gained 10 lbs on my last stay, but don't regret a pound! Casa Benavides is the only place I'd direct my friends & family to stay while in Taos!
