Headwaters Lodge

Headwaters is a large, relatively quiet motel about a half mile north of downtown Boonville. It offers large rooms with 2 queen-size beds for around $50-60 per night depending on the season. The hotel sits astride some major snowmobile trails in New York so is a favorite for these sportsmen when the snow is deep.

The hotel has cable TV, free coffee and donuts, and it offers cots for $5 a night. The owners were accommodating enough to reserve a specific room for us (rooms 58 or 59) which are right beside the back door with easy access to our trucks and hunting dogs. Despite the large crowd and the noisy snowmobiles, the rooms were very quiet and I never heard a noise any of the three nights we spent here.

Some of the hotels in the center of Boonville, such as the Boonville Hotel, offer cheaper, but more basic rooms (about $40 a night).
