BROOKLYN TRANSPORT

by Libus

WHEN I ARRIVE IN BROOKLYN, HOW DO I GET TO EVERGRRN CEMETRY WHERE MY GREAT GRANDPARENTS ARE BURIED?

Re: BROOKLYN TRANSPORT

by Jabberjenn

Depends on where you are in Brooklyn. Here is the address:

1629 Bushwick Ave
Brooklyn, NY 11207-1849

Type the address into Mapquest and you'll be able to figure out how to get there.

Many thanks

I just wanted to comment that I was there on Monday - August 16th for a burial. How ironic!

I suggest the same; use mapquest from wherever you are, we did and it works just fine.

Make sure you have the location details or the exact names etc. as it was a very big cemetery, with lots of different sections.

Take care!

Travel Tips for Brooklyn

Brooklyn ethnic enclaves

by el_ruso

New York outer boroughs host people from all over the world who try to make a living and allow their children live the American dream - whatever it could mean to them. However, the strange thing (at least to me), is that they strongly resist living together, and there are thus Russian neighborhoods, Indian neighborhoods, Mexican neighborhoods, Italian neighborhoods, etc. I think it would be more interesting and fun if all those neighborhoods were more ethnically mixed, but the locals seem to like it just the way they are.

Vinegar Hill

by saw50st8

This recently revitalized neighbourhood boasts many belgian flagstone streets and cute cafes and bodegas. Its a great place to go for a jog or just wander and experience. Vinegar Hill is right off the Manhattan Bridge and is just a 4-5 block area. It is interesting to see the neighbourhood in the process of being revitalized.

Some movies and tv shows were filmed here, including part of a Sopranos episode. Many homes have old storefronts that were used in the film industry.

This area is not a must see, but if you are nearby stop in! Its right near the Metrotech Area.

Walk the Brooklyn Bridge

by barryg23

The Brooklyn Bridge is one of New York's most famous sites and it is easy to see why as it's a beautiful structure. The bridge itself looks great from the shoreline, while by walking along it you get great views of the city. We used to go jogging across the bridge at weekends which was surely one of the finest jogs in Manhattan - well worth it for the views.

Fresh Food galore!

by saw50st8 about Circa

Great fresh salads and other dairy food. You can put whatever you want in the salads including different vegetables, grape leaves, tuna etc and many different types of dressings. They also have delicious soups, pasta and fish dishes. Feta Salad with Caesar dressing

The atmosphere depends completely on who happens to be around at the time. Comfortable. They feature live music, spoken word, and art exhibits along with the vegetarian food. I'm a vegetarian, so it's a relief to just be able to order anything they have!
