A Little Jaded But Nevertheless....
....for the money an excellent hotel. OK there's a few scratches on the walls and doors and the upholstery is due for a refurb but everything else about this hotel is fine. This was formerly the Raddisson Suites and has obviously been bought out by Choice Hotels with, I assume, the intention of a refurb. The suite was exactly what a suite should be, big bedroom, an airy living space with a dining table and a work space. Perfect for all types of visitors.
Service-wise: check-in was swift and friendly as was check-out. Passing one of the desk clerks on the street one morning I was greeted with a cheery wave (not often that happens!). Complimentary wi-fi internet access was spot-on (plus there is a computer in the lobby) and everything else was functioning. Breakfast is fairly basic but well presented, kept immaculately tidy and topped up regularly, and good coffee! Also complimentary coffee is available all day in the lobby.
The hotel itself doesn't have a restaurant but has an attached TGI Friday's from which room service can be ordered.
Unique Quality: For a downtown hotel you cannot be closer to "the action" with the hotel being on the corner of W Chippewa St, which is all bars and restaurants, and the "Theatre District" off Main St is off the other corner.
Directions: The hotel takes up most of the block bounded by Washington St, Main St and Chippewa St.
