Restaurant near HSBC Arena
by argentia
I'll be coming to a Sabres game and would like to eat out before the game. Can someone recommend a restaurant/bar close enough to the arena that I can park once and walk to both?
Thanks,
Trudy

The best place for what you want to do is the Pearl Street Brewery. It is located downtown and is a 5 minute walk to the HSBC arena. You can search on Goggle to find directions.
It gets pretty crowded before Sabres games but it holds a lot of people so you should be okay as far as getting a table. I usually find a parking spot on the street but its usually further up Pearl Street in the opposite direction of the arena. There are parking lots in the area if you don't mind paying.
Also, some of the Sabres themselves have been known to show up there after games.

Or Charlie the Butcher's, heading back into downtown, for their "Beef on Weck"?
Travel Tips for Buffalo
Transportation

Never never think of take bus to hang out around buffalo city. If you came out from the airport, please take the Cab. If you are in Amherst, Williamsville or Tonawanda. My advise is, please go to SUNY-Buffalo, South campus (Opposite TOPS) station. Take the MRT to reach downtown, it save you more time and money. Unlike Chicago or NYC, Buffalo's MRT railway is underground for the outer of the city and has a at the ground rail way in the city.
IF you coming from Canada, Niagara falls, probably the only option for you is the NFTA. The NFTA runs a number of buses throughout the city and suburbs. First time intend to go shopping mall which is located in Cheektowaga. The destination is Walden Galleria Mall and we hooped in to a bus at Amherst and it takes us almost 2 hours to reach the mall. The worst part is, half a year later when we drove there by car, it takes us only 25 mins to reach there.
Also, there was once we (me and my friends) went to downtown just to catch a movie (Vanilla Sky). It was a huge surprise taht the down town is so dead and nobosy is walking around the streets.
Niagara Falls

This is a photo of the beautiful Horseshoe Falls (Canadian side) from 3500 feet! The Canadian Falls are bigger than the American Falls, although from the ground both are impressive. From the air, it's an incredible sight to see it all in one view.

The Falls of Niagara are very impressive and powerful, but for sheer beauty of waterfalls, go to Letchworth State Parkabout 2 hours east/southeast of Niagara Falls. Also try to view some of the Niagara River up-stream from the falls. It's rocky boulder-based rapids show the swift movement of the water as it heads towards it's plunge over the falls.

The AAA Buffalo Bisons provide the city with summertime baseball action. Currently the farm team of the Cleveland Indians, the Bisons are an entertaining way to spend a sunny summer day. Dunn Tire Park is home to the Bisons and is located in downtown Buffalo.
Check out the local "Target"
by SHOCKZ
Here in Canada we don't have Targets but we do have Wal-marts and to be honest those vests that the workers wear at Wal-mart look hideous. Needless to say, trying to find a hot chick at Walmart is like trying to find that needle in the haystack. Well when i arrived at target i couldn't get my eyes off the hotties, i spent more time in my one visit to Target then i've ever spent in a Wal-mart my entire life. The whole purpose of my trip to Buffalo was to drop off my sister at the airport. My delay at Target caused by the surprisingly good number of hot chicks working there almost resulted in my sister missing her flight. She was so pissed off!
