STRESSSSSSSSSED

Is it possible to drive to the usa and fly domestic without a passport?
Re: STRESSSSSSSSSED
by John195123
Depends on where you're driving from and what your nationality is... if you're Canadian, you might be able to, but currently, I really doubt it. If you're foreign in the US, I believe the laws have changed such that you need a passport not so much to fly domestic but to enter the country... so you'll need it anyway.

You are happy if they do not arrest you if you have a passport! I would not make a step in the USA without a passport if I weren't a US citizen. And be sure, they have border controls, if you drive or walk or crawl into the USA.

Not to be overly petty, but the is the US really that bad to travel in as a foreigner? It very well may be, but I don't really know. John

Hi,
I believe it's ok if you have a picture ID with you. You may want to bring two. I am in New Hampshire, which is a bordering state of Canada and I have gone over the border without a passport, but not taken a plane.

Not knowing where you are from, complicates trying to answer your question. Go back and fill in your profile, those questions are there for a reason.
You need a valid, govornment issued photo ID to board a domestic airline flight in the USA. The official website for information is http://www.tsa.dhs.gov/
Good luck,
David

Travel Tips for Buffalo
Buffalo Tip
by jkwill
We lived in a huge sprawling apartment complex called Princeton Courts - I wonder if they're still there? Red brick w/ white trim fourplexes grouped around large courtyards. I remember walking from home to a small store called something like Patsiablo's or Potsiadlos (spelling this phonetically!) Began school at Windemere Elementary School - I think it's still there. We moved from Buffalo to Eggertsville in 1953 or 1954.
Outdoor activities or Darien...
by penpoison
Outdoor activities or Darien Lake Buffalo is a good place to do outdoor activities. Everything is driving distance. Skiing is for the wintertime. Hiking at Letchworth, Allegheny and Angola? state parks. Biking is also a good summertime activity. The roads outside the city have good shoulders for bicycling. Darien Lake amusement park is a good place to visit during the summertime.
Even in summer, it can get cold.

If you aren't from the north, bring something long sleeved. It can definately get chilly to out-of-towners, even in the summer. Bring a decent amount of film -- you'll probably find more interesting, photogenic stuff here than you'd expect. An appetite.
Frank Lloyd Wright

Thre are several homes that Frank Lloyd Wright built in Buffalo, NY. Some of the hotels have their locations of some are hard to find. But if you are a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright's work this is a great place to see some.
Pay a visit to Fort Erie, Canada
by Herkbert
If you are passing through Buffalo on your way to or from Canada, you will be driving across the Peace Bridge. The bridge connects Buffalo, NY to Fort Erie, Canada. Crossing here into Canada leads directly to the QEW, which is the direct highway up to Toronto.
The bridge opened in June 1927, and spans the mouth of the Niagara River at the east end of Lake Erie. While the debate rages on regarding the building of a new bridge or expansion of the current bridge, it is usually a pretty quick trip and fairly easy to make your way through customs.
Be sure to have a passport or other verification of citizenship. You are crossing an international border and since 9/11 they seem to check much more closely. The toll to cross is $3.00 US.
