Ethnic Dining in Buffalo
by alvi21
I'm visiting Buffalo from Aug 24-28 and I'm interested to find reasonably-priced ethnic dining options there. I enjoy Asian, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean cuisine.
Any tips and/or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

I notice your map doesn't include Canada..
Why not slide up to Toronto for an afternoon.
Toronto is an incredible mix of ethnic cultures.
You should be able to find the type of restaurant you are looking for in the Toronto travel guide.
I know you are there to see Buffalo but if you can fit a side trip in...

Well, I would have loved to slide up to Canada while being so close to the border, but being non-American, it's just all too much work (and money) for me to try and get a Canadian visa AND a US visa (just to get back home). I've visited Detroit twice and have never been able to take up on my cousin's invitation to enter Windsor to see some of Canada due to the same reason :(

Go to the Elmwood strip for some shopping and when you are done head to the Albright Knox Art Gallery. Here you will find fine art and a place to eat! Fondest memory is actually of Glenn Falls park, in Williamsville, there is a cute place to sit there.
areas in Buffalo

Buffalo is divided up into loosely bounded areas called "neighborhoods". It may not be obvious to tourist why one street is said to be in one neighborhood rather than in another but to the residents their is strong neighborhood identity and pride.
Some of the areas are:
Allentown... area centered around Allen Street with some of the artsy places included.
Black Rock... an area of declining industrial buildings once used to aid runaway slaves hide and escape to Canada.
Central Park
Cold Springs
Delaware District... centered on Hertel Avenue, Italian-American area
Downtown... the heart of Buffalo, centered on Main Street.
East Side
Elmwood
First Ward
Fruit Belt
Hamlin Park... area bounded by Fillmore and Jefferson Avenues on the east-west and Delavan Avenue and Ferry Street on the north-south
Hospital Hill
Humboldt Park
Kaisertown
Kensington
Lower West Side
Masten Park... centered around Best Street
North Buffalo
North Park... north-south boundary is Kenmore Avenue to Amherst Street and east-west boundary is Main Street to Elmwood Avenue; largely Italian-American area
Parkside
Polonia
Riverside... right along the river, an essentially declined neighborhood; adjacent to Black Rock area.
Schiller Park
South Buffalo... area centered on Abbott Street and Seneca Street; Irish-American conclave
University District... area centered on US62
Vernon Triangle
Upper West Side
Willert Park
Buffalo Bills Football game
by davecallahan
You cannot visit Buffalo in the fall without planning to see a Buffalo Bills game.
You can't beat a professional football game for fun and excitement.
see the website below for this year's schedule of home games.
Ralph Wilson Stadium has accomodation for over 80000 fans; it has restroom and food vendors well-placed on each of its three main levels. Besides the game itself, there are pre-game and half-time entertainment.
see the website below for latest ticket prices and locations of official ticket sellers.

About 30 minutes west off route 5, visit the American Kazoo factory. Free admission and a step into history in Eden, NY. I took my grandchildren there, ages 8 and 11, while they were visiting from SC. We all had a great afternoon.
Kissing Bridge Ski Resort. ...

Kissing Bridge Ski Resort. This is a small mountain that is south of Boston, NY. The vertical drop is 550' and the elevation on top is 1750'. It is nice to wander up the hills on a warm summer day or even a fall day to see the foliage(New York's is every bit as good as Vermont and New Hampshire's).
Off the I-90 take exit 57 in Hamburg and follow signs South through Boston, NY.
