Camp in the Woods: baby-boomer generation's campgrounds

This campgrounds is more like a private club for the over-55 group. Preferred method of renting is by the season at $60 per week minimum. Weekend sites are available by reservation. (Use the phone number below for current rates and advance reservations).

The campgrounds are intentionally quiet and peaceful. There are weekly events (group BBQ, Bingo nite, Pancake Breakfasts, Dancing and other happenings for senior citizens). The facilities are all handicap-accessible. You can have a tow-camper site or an RV site (with full 30W hookup).
There is a community center for get-togethers; a pond for casual fishing or paddle boating.

But most of all there is peace and quiet and commradery with couples of similar age group.

Econo Lodge Canandaigua: changed with the ECONOmy....

UPDATE 2008
I have been informed that the Econolodge on US5/20 has been abandoned. I will confirm this but believe it is probably true because the motel had been deteriorating over the last 5 years.

We used to stay at this Econolodge motel because of its convenient location to the Finger Lakes and its bargain prices (compared to Bed-and-Breakfasts in the area). BUT over the years the price has risen while the overall quality has stayed the same, at best.

They still have clean rooms and all the facilities still work and the location is still convenient BUT it is starting to looked a bit frayed around the edges; the furnishings look old, the outside needs a face-lift. There is now a flock of at least 100 geese that think that the backyard to the motel is their roosting area. You can't even walk back to the inlet area behind the motel any more without pussyfooting around droppings.

So if you are looking for a no-frills overnighter and coffee and doughnuts in the morning then this is the place for you.

getting old..... used to be a lot better
