The Daughter's of Mary rent out this hotel in the spring for a women's retreat. The grounds to it are sweeping with ponds and playgrounds and wonderful places to walk and contemplate. The food is picked for us, but the meals are always good. I have no idea of the costs as it comes in the cost of the retreat. This is true about the cost of the room, it was part of the fee.
The rooms are dated and in need of paint and wallpapering, but they are clean and quiet. They do have air conditioning something that other places in the area do not have. There are several resorts in the area because it used to be a big vacation area, but it is no longer in vogue to go there, so most of the place in the area are dated. I did see a grounds keeper who was working on new paint this past year when I was there.
This place is family owned and only open in the summers.
The plumbing is funny. When you want to turn on the shower, turn on the water and then pull down on the round collar on the spout where the water comes out. Pulling on the collar will turn on the shower.
