Nice room, great location
The LakeFront Motel is not fancy, but very nice, clean and ideally located. I checked reviews on Trip Advisor where the overwhelming majority were very favorable, but there was one negative one (there always is on TA) who said the rooms were dirty and the motel did not accept credit cards. I find both of those statements to be completely false. Our room was spotless, the bathroom quite large and a large nice shower; in fact our room looked like it had very recently undergone a nice renovation. I paid with a credit card but think the do not accept American Express. It sits on Lake Otsego and is only a couple of blocks from the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Main Street, so short walks to Doubleday Field and the shops and restaurants in the center of town. They also have a very nice restaurant overlooking the lake and the Glimmerglass Boat Tours are just across the parking lot. Also, behind the motel is Lakefront Park which is quiet and green and overlooks the lake of course. We found it ideal for ourselves and our 10 year-old grandson.
The total cost for the three of us was $234 including tax.

Quaint, clean, comfortable on Otsego Lake
Please check back on this tip AFTER I've stayed at the Lake View Motel. For now, I'll just give you the particulars. The motel came highly recommended by friends who have visited there for years, always staying in the same cottage.
The Lake View rooms have coffee makers, refrigerators, CD players, high speed internet connections and free HBO in all rooms. Cottages have full kitchens. Complimentary continental breakfasts are served in spring and fall seasons. During the summer, swimming and fishing are available in Lake Otsego, and paddle boats are available for rent. There are charcoal grills and picnic tables. Laundry service is provided. In short, this is a great place to come with a family and stay several days, while visiting the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, the Fenimore Art Museum, Glimmerglass Opera, Howe Caverns, or the Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard.

Walking distance to Cooperstown attractions
We were right on the lake, there was a parking lot in front. Our location was perfect we walked to Baseball Hall of Fame, Double Day Field & all of the shops & restaurants on Main Street. After the long car ride it was nice to get out & walk around. The water covered in clouds in the morning was quite a sight.
Room was clean, comfortable & quiet. This hotel is about 40 yrs. old and is dated. Our room wasn't that large, but it was more than sufficient for two of us. Our bathroom was on the small side with a shower stall, but were had a shelf & room to keep our toiletries. This was the place we slept, most of the time was spent outdoors exploring Cooperstown, it was more than sufficient.
Unique Quality: Location, Location & Location. We have no complaints.
