Edelweiss Lodge: Disgusting
This had to be the biggest rip-off I have ever experienced. We stayed in Chalet #2 for $349/night for 3 nights over the Family Day/President's Day weekend expecting at least a minimum of cleanliness and comfort, we absolutely got neither. The list of our issues is long and includes - Ant infestation (in winter we had ants go figure), the place smelled terrible and was mouldy, furniture was broken and was disgusting to sit on, NO HOT WATER, the owner was a complete jerk, dirty frdge with other people's food in it, dirty towels and cloths stuffed in dresser drawers. Just absolutely gross!! Do not stay here if you want to have any feeling of comfort, the owner could care less about you as a guest. I would not board my dog at such a disgusting place. They also have you trapped there because they bill your credit card for the full amount upon you reserving the room (first sign of a rip-off)...Again do not stay here, I wish I had read the reviews before spending this past weekend there, one positive is that we spent way more time on the ski hill and in the town of Ellicotville so we could avoid being in that dump.

Snow Pine Condo's: Pick a Condo......any condo.....
Snow Pine is one of many condo's available in the Holiday Valley Ski Resort. It has all the comforts of home, except ........ enough hot water for all to shower after hitting the slopes, .......... a working sliding door to get out onto the balcony ( a room full of people that smoke in a non- smoking room and we can't get out to the balcony?) Well, we fixed the door so it would work with a screw driver and a drunk mechanic. It did have a nice fireplace that there was wet wood supplied to burn, the smoke alarm battery was dead (they did bring us a new one as soon as we called management. There was a washer and dryer available, however the dryer took 4 hours to dry a small load of towels.
As you can tell, I wasn't really impressed with the room. But, hey if you have the right people with you, you learn to overlook the little crap. We did stop over and talk to our neighbors and thier condo seemed a little nicer. So, maybe we just got the older, exhuasted one.
Unique Quality: Our condo was on the second floor of 3. It had 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed, one with 2 sets of bunk beds, and the sofa opened into a bed also. It had two full bathrooms, which is helpful when you have lots of women trying to get ready and lots of men stinking up the other one! lol
The view was awesome though and there was a great path you could ski down to get to the lift to take you to the resort.
Beware of the gray stairs once you entire the main door into the condo complex. If you don't bust your butt once, you will do it multiple times! They are sooooooo slick!

SnowPine Village: Ski in, ski out at its best.....
Room F201 is great. Its balcony overlooks "
the wall" (holiday valley's only double black diamond). Hop over your balcony railing strap on your board and its a quick ride down an easy slope to the SnowPine lift (a double chair lift that goes to the top of one of the mountains with trails to the main lodge and several other lifts). Back to the room itself, 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, plus a sleeper sofa. Cable TV , kitchen and a fireplace w/ wood supplied. Had a great time but we were a little loud and security visited many times. Maybe not the best place for the really loud and spirited winter sports enthusiast.
Unique Quality: I think they have a hottub somewhere but we spent most of our time on the balcony, on the slopes, down in ellicottville (there is a shuttle bus) or passed out in front of the fireplace.
