lovely hotel right on the lake
We spent 2 nights at the Ramada at Geneva. What a pleasant new hotel in an "older" area. The room was neat, clean,and the staff very accomodating (they even put in a small fridge into our room at a minimal charge) . The hotel seems to host conventions and parites, and was quite modern. It sat directly on the lake, and our room had a lakefront view. A large garden and gazebo faced the lake, and we watched the sunset from the pier and walked along the "boardwalk" at the back of the hotel. There was even a small picnic table near the rear parking lot where we made a moonlight picnic, and a large park with more tables right next to the hotel. back doors which were accessible with a room key made entry and exit to the parking areas (and the spot with the picnic tables) made this much easier.
The "indoor pool" was a bit of a joke, and not much bigger than the hot-tub. They call it a "cooling off pool" since it is right next to the exercise machines, and as a "lap-swimmer", I couldn't even imagine climbing in. It seemed more like a large bathtub than a pool. Breakfast was not included in our rate. Other than this, our stay was lovely, and it was a perfect spot after our day at Watkins Glen, though a bit further from it than we had expected- it took us an hour to get there, as the road wound through "wine-tour" country.
