Rodeway Inn and Suites: New Paltz's WORSE hotel

by JessyJane

I HAVE TO FOREWARN ANYONE TRAVELING TO NEW PALTZ NY. DO NOT STAY AT THE RODEWAY INN AND SUITES - 601 MAIN STREET NEW PALTZ NEW YORK. I HAVE HAD ONE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE THERE WITH A STAFF MEMBER (HOTEL DESK CLERK). SHE WAS ARROGANT, RUDE AND EVIL. SHE CURSED ME OUT AND FOLLOWED ME THRU THE HOTEL IN A VERY THREATENING MANNER WHILE WITH MY 10 YEAR OLD CHILD. ALL BECAUSE I ASKED FOR A PILLOW THAT OUR ROOM WAS LACKING. WE PAID 143.00 FOR THE OVERNIGHT STAY IN THE QUEEN SIZE SUITE (NOT) THAT SLEPT 6 BUT ONLY CAME WITH 4 PILLOWS. WE ARE A FAMILY OF 5 AND NEEDED ONE MORE PILLOW. FOR SOME REASON THIS MADE THE CLERK ANNOYED AT ME. CONTINUING TO CURSE ME OUT (CALLING ME WHITE TRASH M^&ER F^&*ER) MY 10 YEAR OLD WAS REDUCED TO TEARS AND DEATHLY AFFRAID OF THE UPCOMING NIGHTS STAY.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. THE ROOM WAS DIRTY AND LACKED ENOUGH TOWELS TO ADD TO THE PILLOW INCIDENT. I DARED NOT ASK FOR ANOTHER 2 TOWELS.

THERE IS NOTHING UNIQUE AT THE RODEWAY INN OTHER THAN THE ARROGANCE OF THE STAFF - WHICH YOU RARELY FIND IN THE HOTEL HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY.

Wingate by Wyndham at LaGuardia Airport: Bad hotel!

by Dymphna1

The location was really good. It was only 5 blocks from the end of the line in Queens for the subway. But it needs an over haul in a bad way. And good luck getting a clean room.

When I got there there was a newspaper and old key laying around in the room. There was an open bottle of shampoo in the tub area. Later I found the empty condom wrapper next to the bed.

The door jam to the bathroom did not work, as half of it was missing. The tile needs to be re grouted - there is water going down into the wall.

Staff was friendly. The restaurant is nice. (I don't understand how so many bars in NY can be without tap beer.)

Sheraton Time Square: Best Location in Time Square

by lilysuzlini

I have book this place online 5 months ago. Besides I have special request like needed extra pillows since travel with my hubby and two kids, infect we were happy to find our request were fulfilled. The only sad back is the room does not have wi-fi. Others being very good and satisfactory. They let us check out at 3pm even though the that time the hotel is full.....Thanks Giving Parade were held at Time Square

GLEN IRIS INN: A Waterfall Right Out Your Front Door!

by mtncorg

Purchased in 1859 along with 1000 surrounding acres by William Letchworth, the building was further developed into a comfortable estate. Letchworth was responsible for saving the area from possible development by would-be power developers who hoped to dam the river in the gorge which would have inundated the falls. He had wanted to turn his home at his death into an orphanage, but with the threat from local power companies, he gave his home and lands - three years before his death in 1906 - to the State of New York for the development of what would become today’s State Park. The home has been restored into a period country inn - since 1914 - with lots of pictures relating back to the time when it was the Letchworth home. Rooms are small, but comfortable. There is only one television to be found in a common room on the third floor. The thunder of the waters of Middle Falls are ever-present. A nice on-site restaurant cinches the deal as do the verandah chairs out front where you can enjoy your post-prandial cigar in true Gilded Age style.

Waterfall, nice restaurant and great verandah.

The New Yorker: Center of the City

by shmajo

As we arrived and checked in the size of the building was overwhelming. We proceeded to the elevators which went up to the 40th floor! After the ride up we stepped into our "home" for the next 8 days. It was a soap-box....seriously tiny! There were 2 very short full-sized beds (which wasn't great since my sister, Lindsey, is almost 6 feet tall!). The room had a window air-conditioning unit, which is much needed on the East Coast. The bathroom was more like a tiled closet. Barely enough room to shut the door and turn around. You had to crack the window in the shower so that you didn't sweat the second you stepped out. No fan!

The cleaning crew was great and the concierge was very helpful at all hours of the day and night.

It was also nice that there was a 24-hour diner attached to the hotel lobby. The diner was a little pricey but the portions were large.

Conway's Motel on Loon Lake

by Ewingjr98

This is just a small 8 room motel that sits next to scenic Loon Lake. Built in 1959, the hotel was last renovated in 1986, and it shows its age with the worn carpet and old amenities. Rooms are very large and there is lots of parking. This is a decent place to stay to begin your exploration of the Adirondacks. The motel is locally owned by Erika & Bob Clench.

Prices generally start at $75 per night.
