Clean place - just needs major upgrading
by 807Wheaton about Golden Manor Motel
We spent two nights at the Golden Manor Motel in Hyde Park, NY. We had a quick, efficient check-in and were given a room at the very back of this place. The walls are paneled and the window treatments do not match either the carpet or the bedcovers. However the place is really clean. The sheets had been pressed and were very crisp - not a wrinkle in them!
The mattress was not "up to date" but was OK. The carpet had a few stains but it was not old. The lights were florescent bulbs over the beds and over the various stands and counters. Very glaring and cold. The room was pretty good size.
The bathroom was also very outdated but it was clean. They provided soap and shampoo in a packet. The towels were very thin.
The continental breakfast was coffee with real half and half creamer, donuts and orange juice.
There are only six hotels in Hyde Park which is a mystery to me. It is such a wonderful place to visit. Even if we had stayed four or five days we could not have seen and enjoyed all the things that are in the area. We paid $55 for a Senior Rate. The rate of $55 was the best in the area.
