The pond on the grounds is gorgeous by TempNomad We were a little surprised at how far out from downtown Ithaca this lovely place was...however, we enjoyed our brief (two nights) stay and I highly recommend it for travelers with a car and a desire to see the surrounding areas of Ithaca. We stayed in the Russian Room. It has artsy wooden furniture that retained its natural shape. That room has a shower in the bathroom attached to the room, but each room has different arrangements. We also had the run of the downstairs kitchen and living room. In the morning, the hostess, Wanda, provides a magnificent breakfast of fruit salad, juice (a different kind each morning), amazing coffee, potato pancakes, blintzes or blinis, and conversation. There was plenty to eat. The grounds are beautiful, and there are two dogs - very friendly.

This is an absolutley brilliant place. It is way out, around 30mins from Ithaca and in the heart of the country. Wanda, the host cooks breakfast of pancakes, jams(jellies), eggs, toast in the morning in her own kitchen and she welcomes you into her home with such warmth. There are a number of log chalets. We stayed in a room with three suites. There are communal kithen and sitting room areas. There is a balcony, conservatory and BBQ which would be great in teh summer. Each suite is kitted out with a theme- russian, polish, native american to name a few. There are a number of trails set out in the grounds. Incidently our cabin was 1/4 mile away from the main house and at one with nature.
Great host and such a location. It was great. Wanda takes photos of her guests and posts them on her website, evryone looks like they have had so much fun. Twiggy is the sweetest, most calm Dalmation ever by TempNomad This is one of the great draws of the Inn. This beautiful dog (Twiggy) is five years old, and just sweet. There's another, larger, younger dog also, named Nasza. They are so friendly and will let you pet them and kiss them and play with them. Check them out at: http://www.logtv.com/inn/

by SaveAPitBull Well, if I had lots of cash, I would stay at the Statler Hotel on Cornell Campus. I worked there for a long time so I can tell you, it's a great experience. However, if you - like me - travel with your dog, and if you - like me - a po', broke and cheap, your best bet is the Econo Lodge by the mall. Statler is the nicest, ranging from $99-270 Econolodge is cheap, ~$75. And +$10 for the dog.
Statler Hotel is run by students (don't worry, there are real, live adults in charge!). A fun experience is TCAB night, when students take over the dining facilities and put on a 'theme night'. It's a Cornell tradition and though service can be slow, it is sure to entertain. At the Econo Lodge, they let you have your dog. An outstanding attribute of ANY lodging facility, I think. Expect to pay a lot for hotels and B&Bs around Ithaca. If you can, camp. I think it's a lot cheaper that way. Unless you are willing to pay luxury prices. Check around before travelling to Ithaca. I would recommend using this web site for more info: http://www.visitithaca.com/ Theme: Other

CASCADILLA HALL by Michael_D My old dorm Cascadilla Hall..I LOVED this place. It was built in the 1800s and was at the gateway to COLLEGETOWN. It reeked of Ivy-ness;-) In the summer they rent dorm rooms to budget travellers and it is actually one of the best values and puts you ON the campus.
Its operated like a hostel in the past. There are shared cooking facilities, single beds, bathrooms and showers are down the hall. Its only a dozen steps out the front door and COLLEGE TOWN is at your fingertips. Theme: HostelPrice: less than US$20 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: COLLEGE TOWN
