Spent President's weekend here - great rate on hotel. Spacious room - we were on second floor with high cathedral ceiling. Big beds and bathroom. Good muffins for breakfast. Location was perfect - close drive or walking distance (when it is not 10 degrees out) to main part of town - easy drive to Whiteface for skiing and to Olympic attractions - bobsled, ski jump, cross country skiing. Convenient bowling alley next door. Good pizza at Mr. Mike's one block away and good lunch at Downtown Diner two blocks away. Great German restaurant 1/2 mile away (Alpine Cellar). Would definitely recommend to all.
The Absolute Best Comfortable Place in Lake Placid

Simply put, Devlin's is wonderful. We spend a lot of time in the area, and on a recent "Real Estate trip," we tried Devlin's, because we needed an affordable place to recommend to others. This place surpasses "nice" and "affordable" by miles. We have paid much more for much less. For our taste, this is the nicest place we have stayed in the Adirondacks.
Devlin's is an older, remodeled motel in the heart of Lake Placid. Just a few steps to shopping and attractions. Don't let the word "motel" deter you. This is nicer than most of the places we have stayed in LP. Rooms are big, beds are comfortable, small terraces are attached to rooms, very nicely decorated and refurbished, our standard bath had a spa-tub, the property is beautifully maintained, and the folks could not be nicer.
Even if it were not affordably priced, this would be one of the best lodging options in Lake Placid.

The Art Devlin Motor Inn is the cleanest hotel around. Everything in the reviews written before this one is true! The owners are helpful with area information; the homemade muffins/donuts with morning coffee/tea/hot chocolate is a nice touch, especially when the fireplace is lit in the lobby and there's a moment to relax on the plush sofas. The rooms are clean!! Nice clean carpet, small frig, beds, tub/shower, sinks. The pillows and bath towels are full and fluffy. Perhaps they've been replaced after a few comments here? The bowling alley next door however is old and the pins sound like "Jaws" is nearby. Mike's Pizza which is next to the bowling alley is convenient but just OK. The Adirondick Steak & Seafood Company in town (1/2 mile walk/ride) brews beer. Great place for lunch. The village stores are close as is the Olympic ice rink. It's less than 10 minutes to drive to Whiteface. Go there! I know we will go soon. (It was too cold for the pool to be open.)

Art Devlin's Olympic Motor Inn was easy to find right on the end of the main strip. The location is ideal because it is close to the lake and stores but not in the center of the craziness. The price was reasonable and the room was well-kept- it was definitely more than we expected.

Not one complaint about this place. Contact was clear and friendly by both phone and Email. Upon asking, since it was a slow weekend, they offered their mid-week discount; we stayed for only $89/night. The room was SPOTLESS. My husband joked with the owner that he must have someone polishing the bathtub every day. The room was very large, and having asked for a back room, it was also very quiet and had a window looking towards the hills. It had a high ceiling made all of wood and photos of the Adirondacks (instead of bad art) on the walls. Even though it was June, it was in the 40's for much of our stay, so we also discovered that heater worked very well. Bottom line: unless you want a resort or very fancy hotel, stay here.

Just got back from spending a weekend in Lake Placid and after driving around town looking at accomodations for about an hour we settled on Art Devlins. From the outside the motel looks like most others, very non descript. After speaking to the woman at the front desk she offered me a key and said I could look at the room. Upon opening the door I was very pleasently suprised. The room was nicely sized with two queen size beds, a leather chair, and a very large bathroom. Best of all it was extremely clean and everything looked brand new; carpets, fixtures, ect. The motel doesn't have alot of ammenities, just a small pool that was very clean, and a small patio area. It is pretty convenient for walking, about five minutes to the Olympic venues and the shops on Main Street. There are two very friendly german shepherds that live on site and man the area near the office. The only cons I would say about this motel is the rate was a bit high for this type of accomodation and the continental breakfast offered was pretty modest. Otherwise I would certainly recommend it.

A very clean hotel thta is extremely dog friendly and a five minute walk to the shops on Main Street. Close to the town beach. Fresh coffee and tea in the mornindgand nice muffins and donuts. The grounds are tidy and there is plenty of parking. The hosts are helpful and courteous.
Best dollar value in Lake Placid.

The Olympic Motor Inn is an absolute jewel. Everything positive you've read in these reviews is true. I've stayed here four times in the past four years and am getting ready to plan my fifth stay here for February 2007. The inn is immacuately clean, the staff friendly, and the inn is very convenient to all there is to see and do in the Lake Placid and Whiteface area.
One thing I have noticed is the staff. There doesn't seem to be much turnover. This must mean that The Devlins are as good to their employees as they are to the guests. Happy employees mean good work and pride in their work. And it shows.
My family and I just returned from Disney World last week. After a week of crowds and lines, hot weather, less than stellar employees, and so-so customer service, I am looking forward to my time in Lake Placid and especially the great experience at the Olympic Motor Inn.

We stayed at the Art Devlin's first weekend of October and had a great time. The hotel is nice, clean and well located. It was very quiet despite a busy weekend. I recommend it to everyone looking for a nice stay and a nice price.

Visit Lake Placid & this is the 1st year I found a place that was affordable, clean, beautiful view from our deck & great location.
