The Hilton Epicentre
Stayed at the Hilton Lake Placid as a result of securing an excellent special price ($60USD/night) with free parking.
The Hilton is almost perfectly in the centre of much of the Lake Placid action. The hotel boasts about the fact that all rooms face the lake. While this is true, you need to stay on floors 4 or 5 to really appreciate this. Each room has a patio, which does allow for a nice place to watch the lake at dusk.
Although a Hilton, this property may be very slightly below their usual standards. Our room was clean, however the bathroom was tiny and the furnifhings were a bit old. The big attraction of the Hilton is the location and the fact that they have nighly Happy Hour.
I'd recommend it, although not if you are looking for a more secluded and intimate option.
