Hidden Mill: Tranquil
We loved stay at the Hidden Mill, the only qualms we had were that we didn't have enough time to just 'mill' around. *

Broadway Motor Inn: The Best of the Best in West Babylon
The rates for this hotel are higher priced and we thought this was to keep the prostitutes out. My Aunt and Uncle pounded the pavement for us looking for decent accomodations. If you decide to check in you will find a fairly clean facility. It is in dire need of a face lift: New beds, towels and carpeting.
But it was a port in the storm (it actually snowed the night we were there) and it was the closet thing we could find near my aunt and uncle home.
Unique Quality: The inn advertises a continental breakfast which was non-existent. But the piece de resistance was the coffee. I went to get coffee for my husband who requires 10 gallons daily, there was an urn with cold coffee in it so I poured a cup and nuked it for him. I had tea. My sister in law later informed me that the coffee was there -cold- when we checked in. Eeeeeeeeew! Thank heavens I nuked it and my husband who, unless he reads this will never know!!

Camping: State, National, County Parks
Long Island has its fair share of parks, with Suffolk county standing as one of the leaders in preservation of open space. With that title, LI has many camping oppurtunities. You can camp in the outback of Fire Island National Seashore, spike stakes in at a state park, or pitch a tent in one of the many county owned parks.
