New York suite hotel near Times Square
AC Room with partial view of Hudson River. 30th floor. Room was very comfortable; modern bathroom fixtures, full kitchenette -fridge with icemaker-Dishwasher-Rangehood microwave-coffeemaker, comfy queen bed, desk with hard wired internet-secure vs wireless, recliner, 32 inch flatscreen HD. Excellent staff. 24 hour minimart on premises.
I highly recomend this location 5 blocks from Times Square and one block from the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market (Saturdays & Sundays).
Unique Quality: Great price (around $200 USD for two persons per night) for a hotel of this quality in a great location.
Opinion of Price: less expensive than average

"A mini Vacation for two"
Fly Porter to NYC from Sudbury. A quick trip via Toronto Island airport. Stayed at the Candlewood suites on 49th st just off 8th Ave. Just a few days but we packed in a lot. Candlewood is great value for the money. Picolo Bufalo is a great spot in Little Italy. Les Halles of Anthony Bourdain fame is great for lunch. The relvolving lounge at the Marriot is a nice rest stop. Shows "The Adams Family" and "Avenue Q" both great.
"Il Piccolo Bufalo"
You can still get great Pizza in Little Italy.
"A short ride in Central Park"
This is a nice inexpensive way to see the park and get a little local history.

From Newark Airport to Hyatt Jersey City Hotel
by xxDinahxx
Hi,
I have one more question concerning my trip to NYC.
I'll arrive at Newark International Airport at about 1pm.
What's the cheapest/fastest/best way to get from there to the Hyatt Regency Jersey City Hotel (2 Exchange Place, Jersey City, New Jersey, 07302 USA) ? I don't have a car there (and I don't plan to rent one..hotel is expensive enough...)
What's the area like?
Is there anything to do except going to Manhattan?
How long does it take to go from there to
Newark Airport ?
to Manhattan ?
(not by own car)
Thank you very much in avance. Have a nice weekend!!!

The cheapest is to take the #62 NJ Transit bus from Newark Airport to Newark Penn Station. Then take the PATH from Newark Penn Station to Exchange Place station.
The hotel is right next to the PATH station. Should be less than $5.
The fastest is to take a taxi $35 + tolls + tip.
PATH information is at www.pathrail.com
From Exchange Place to midtown Manhattan, you'll need to change trains at Pavonia.
Look at the system map. Also note that the routes are different for late nights and weekends.

I live in Jersey City. What I usually do to get home after flying into Newark is hop on the AirTran to the NJTransit station. Then take a 5 minute ride to Newark Penn Station and follow the same instructions as what the other person posted. Depending how what train you catch, you can probably expect to get to the hotel in about 45 mins.
For train schedules head to:
www.njtransit.com
The Hilton is right on the waterfront, facing downtown Manhattan. Its quite nice but gets very quiet during non-work hours. To get to the city, just jump on the PATH train again at Exchange Place and you'll pop out on the other side in the WTC. The ride itself is very short...about 3 mins. From there, you'll have access to a bunch of subways.
Have a great time.

TG,
How's the area along Washington Blvd at night after 6pm and anytime on weekends?
Would you let your mom or sister walk from the Candlewood Suites to the PATH
stations during off-hours?
Alot of tourists seem to be gravitating to NJ because of the high cost
of hotels in Manhattan.
Also, how's the Light Rail?

The Light Rail is a great way to get around this area. Each trip costs 1.75- make sure you validate your ticket (by inserting it into a marked machine) or else you can get a 100$ fine! The area is quite nice- use caution at night as you would in any area...Feel free to email me if you have any other questions.
Q:JFK to Morningside Heights "I am arriving at JFK on July 1st (a sunday) around 11 am. Since I'll be alone and with a fair amount of luggage, I was thinking..."
A: "That's the price I paid on my last trip to NYC. Sunday's are usually lighter, but you never can count on a quick trip from JFK to down town."
