RIGHT IN THE HEART OF THINGS

The perfect hotel for me, right on times square and within 200 metres of three Starbucks. Wherever you travel in midtown from here you are only a short walk away.

    Nice hotel, great location

    by

We really enjoyed our stay at the Crowne Plaza. I requested a "superior floor" and we found the room to be quiet, clean, comfortable, fairly large, and even a little cute. The customer service was average to good and the location was EXCELLENT. I highly recommend this hotel if you can find a good price. It was a bit inconvenient that you have to show your key every night to get back up to your room, but I guess that just increases security! Additionally, the bellmen were very helpful when obtaining a taxi for the airport when we left.

Unique Quality: Great views (if you request a broadway room), wonderful location

    Directions: Times Square

    Great Location - but...

    by

We stayed here thanks to a super internet savings deal. One main reason we were staying there was because the hotel had a pool.

Don't be fooled - The pool is actually part of a health club - so if your traveling with children - you won't be spending time at the hotel pool like we thought we'd be able too.

Unique Quality: The location was good - right in Times Square.

The room was nice - but even with our internet deal it still was not as NICE as some of the hotels we had stayed at for less money on our way to NYC.

I guess you are paying more just because of the location.

Overall not a bad place to stay - but not the greatest either if you are traveling with children.

Great location if you are seeing Broadway shows.

    Great room, awful service

    by

Dark wood and warm lighting...it's very comforting after a long day of touring. The rooms were very clean and the view is wonderful. Not to mention the fact that it is located right in the middle of time sqaure...GREAT LOCATION!

GrayLine bus tours 1 block away...surrounded by terrific restaurants and theatres. The location couldn't be better!

Please don't be offended by the rude clerks, they are rude to everyone. We waited over 12 hours for a room that we already reserved 2 months prior.

    Unique Quality: -baggage storage
    -pool
    -fully equiped gym
    -restaurant and bar
    -amazing view of Time Square
    -very knowledgable concierge
    -near subway

    Directions: Broadway and 49th

Anywhere in Manhatten will be expensive to stay. Plan on paying minimum of $100 a night.

Unique Quality: This is a very nice hotel. The thing I especially like about it is the piano bar on the 2nd floor. They make very good Cosmopolitans!

Crowne Plaza Times Square

Stayed here June 17-21, 2004. Although the room was "average", the price was right and the service was exemplary. Staff easily and quickly accommodated several requests. I especially liked the fact that a security person was stationed at the elevator banks each evening. He checked to see that anyone using the elevators actually was a registered guest (well, that we had room keys which is better than zip!) Location is central to lots of NYC sites. I'd go back in a heartbeat (or as soon as I can find another excellent rate!)

Lovely Time

Front desk lady, Sarita, was very friendly and we were able to check in early. The bell men were very helpful. The only negative is, I am from Texas and have the luxury of choosing air conditioner or heat per room. Unlike the Crowne Plaza New York, if the heater is on, it's on for the entire hotel and there is no way you are going to get air. I guess we Texans are spoiled. Overall nice hotel.

Crowne Plaza, my first choice

by TripAdvisor Member johnh96813

I stayed at 2 New York hotels over total of 6 days. The other was considered a luxury boutique hotel that cost more. However, I thought the Crowne Plaza represented a better value -- location was central to Times Square and the theatre district, the room was larger, and service was good.

Crowne Plaza Times Square - how many floors?

by Waoife

Does anyone know what floor the rooms start at in the Crowne Plaza Times Square? The rate are really good but my roomie isn't keen on heights (problem in NY I know) so the lower they start the better - I know that we'll probably have street noise issues but it's better than a petrified roomie!!

Thanks in advance :)

Crowne Plaza 1605 Broadway (Bway/49)New York, NY 10019 ---- this is a 46 storey hotel and it had recent renovations on 44-46 floors...but the rooms start at the 16th floor (sixteenth)...Hope you still have a great time here (despite the fear of heights)-- it has great views of Manhattan...hope this helps, Norman :)
