Before moving to New York, I stayed at Lyden Gardens on E. 64th Street several times. Now my sister and her husband stay there when they come in from California. It is not a boutique hotel by any means. It is simply a very nice apartment style hotel. It's a place where you can pretend, for a few days, that you live in Manhattan.
All of the rooms have kitchens. The junior suite is like a studio apartment and it can accomodate three people. The one bedroom has a little living room and a dining area and is big enough for four. The two bedroom can handle six.

The rooms are very clean and nicely furnished. The location is great, within walking distance to Central Park, Bloomingdales, Fifth and Madison Avenues and a number of good restaurants, shops, and art galleries.
If you are traveling with your pet, check the website for the services that are offered for your animal.

Directions: On the Upper East Side near Third Avenue. Within walking distance of Bloomingdale's, Central Park, and museums.
