Room with a View and great service too!

Our 3 night stay here was great - we got to the hotel two hours before our check in time. They were able to give us a room on the 5th floor and if we waited we could be higher up. We wanted to see the Empire State Building from our windows so we waited. We drove into the city so we used their parking arrangement called ICON. The parking is located on W. 36th Street and was very user friendly. They gave us plenty of time to get all of our stuff out of the car before they parked it - we looked like part of the cast in "Home Alone" - four adults and two kiddos. The charge was $35 for 24 hours. Our total charge for parking was $105. We paid the Hampton Inn the $105 when we checked out.
The room and bathroom were clean and modern looking. Nice flat screen TV and comfy beds with a fresh duvet every day and 3 perfect pillows. The towels were fresh and fluffy. The shower had great water pressure and dangerously hot water and granite counters for the sink with great looking tile backsplash. Plenty of sealed paper cups in the bathroom and on the desk by the coffee maker and there were two phones. There was an outlet for chargers on the stand between the beds. The safe was in the clothes closet and operated nicely with good light effects. Actually I thought the size of the room was quite respectable for a moderate hotel in NYC.
Breakfast was served in a good sized area 6 AM to 10:00 AM every day - even on weekends. Plenty of hot coffee, water and decaf coffee. Breakfast was different all three mornings. Waffle mix for waffles was offered every morning. They were very good. They had the best fresh fruit combo that I've ever had at a Hampton Inn - real orange pieces and fresh pineapple. They also had plenty of bananas and apples set out all morning. Their hot oatmeal was in a big crock pot and was a good choice on a cold morning. The assortment of pastries was better than most I've had.
One morning they had spanish omelettes that were excellent. Meat was served all three mornings with bacon, sausages and sausage links sliced. Fried potatoes were offered also on the third morning. There was always one person tending to the breakfast buffet and another person keeping things clean and helping the guests.
We paid $195 plus tax each night for two nights and used points for the more expensive night. All of us felt safe and comfortable at all times. Thanks Hampton Inn Empire State Building for such a wonderful stay during the Christmas Season. We left with great memories.

Unique Quality: The location can't be beat. One block from the Empire State Building and Macy's. Ask for a room with a view of the Empire State Building. While we were there it was lit up with red and green lights for Christmas. What a treat!
The staff here is fantastic - very friendly and helpful.
