Budakan restaurant & other suggestions

by clareabee

Hi guys,

Just starting to research restaurants for our honeymoon next year and although we want to play some of the trip by ear I would like to book some restaurants.

Has anybody been to Budaken restaurant? - would you recommend.

Does anybody else have any suggestions for restaurants (anything but Sushi!)

thanks

I was in Budakan at the end of December last year and really enjoyed it - food portions are a little small for the price but it is delicious :) We booked the day before and had no problem getting a table for two, although if you want to sit in a specific area (it's a pretty big place!) then you may need to book further in advance.

thanks for that - really helpful advice about the portion sizes too!

Went with my wife & we thoroughly enjoyed it.Also Tao, was quite busy but again very enjoyable & a great New York dining experience. Bryant Park Grill was lovely & the food was very good. Hope this helps & you have a wonderful honeymoon.

Travel Tips for New York City

Expect to see anything !!

by MarioPortugal

What's amazing about NYC [New York City] - is that one can expect to see the unthinkable at anytime !! One will never get bored. This really amazes me.

The picture on the left, taken on 42nd Street (Times Square) in 2003, shows a funny one-man-only costume. At first sight it looks like a two-men costume. But it is not. It's one-man only !!. Creativity is always all over the place. One will NEVER get bored just by walking by in New York. Fabulous.

Walk around time square...

by biljah

One of the best things about NY is walking around time square in the summer. There's no place in the world like New York! It's wild it's crazy, and best of all it's fun. The view in time square... it's pretty much a concreate jungle with the exotic animals being huge screens and flashing lights evry where you look!!!

Visit the Cloisters in...

by noahsdad

Visit the Cloisters in Washington Heights. In the 1920s, a Rockefeller went around Europe buying up cloisters and reassembling them at the northern tip of Manhattan. The Cloisters are quiet and peaceful, and there's a medieval herb garden to enjoy. There's a treasure trove of medieval art. Even if you don't enjoy the period, the setting--in a park, on cliffs overlooking the Hudson--is beautiful. You have no idea you're in New York City. Waiting for the bus in the gently falling snow with my spouse to go see a Matisse exhibit.

New York MTA Map

has detailed maps of subway stops and routed and even MTA Bus Lines and Routes and is free! you can get it at all subway stations and major bus stops and some convenience stores all around the city.

Hold hands or the railing

by high_d

After being awed by that gigantic Holiday tree...why not try ice skating in the famed Rockefeller ice rink...It's romantic especially when your special someone has to hold your hand the whole time ;) Or you could also do what I did and hold on to the railing ;p
Unless of course, you're Michelle Kwan.
While holding on to the railing you can glance over and gaze at the awesome gilded statue of Prometheus. In Greek mythology, good ol' Prometheus brought fire to mankind. Sculpted by Paul Manship.
