We chose the On The Ave because of its close proximity to the Beacon Theatre. It's only 1 1/2 blocks from the Beacon. It didn't hurt that the hotel is also less than 3 blocks to Central Park, the History Museum and the Dakota (where John Lennon lived and was shot.)
The hotel staff were nice and efficient. The room was clean and fresh / modern looking. The bathroom sparkled with cleanliness. Water pressure was great and hot water was never an issue. Also, water drained well in the sink as well as in the bath/shower. Towels were fluffy. Rooms were quiet and there was very little street noise.
Overall it is a great hotel for a great rate (if you can get it on Priceline) in a perfect location.
Location is everything and since we wanted to be close to the theatre and not in the heart of mid-town, this really worked for us. With the subway so close, you can be anywhere in the City in a matter of minutes.
