Go around the city first. See everything - Soho, Greenwick Village, Chinatown, Little Italy, Tribeca - then go to the Empire State Building. You'll really appreciate what you're looking at when you've been to all the places that you can see before you.My favourite memory of NY is when my boyfriend came to visit me from Ireland and we travelled by subway into Manhatten from Queens. We exited the subway south of Central Park and you should have seen his face when he saw the huge skyscrapers and then the park in the middle of it all! I'll always treasure that picture!!!!
