New York B&B's

by Anny78

Me again....

Could anyone recommend any good B&B in NYC, especially in Manhattan? I found two that seem interesting, STAY THE NIGHT in between the 5th and Madison and GRACIE INN on the 502 East 81st Street. Are these ones really so nice it seems on the websites?

Travel Tips for New York City

Brooklyn, NYC

by dianediane

Anyone who uses the term "outer boroughs" is obviously a non-native of NYC (even if they live here now). We never use it. Just remember, Brooklyn (twice the size of Paris), Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island are all in NYC. Not just Manhattan. Enjoy it all.

(Try walking across the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan - you'll end up in Brooklyn Heights,a great neighborhood, with great vistas of Manhattan, or go to Flushing, Queens for authentic Asian - all types of - food. Walk around Williamsburg, Brooklyn to see Hispanics, tatood artsy types and Hasiidim all enmeshed in one neighborhood. The Bronx Botanical Gardens is beautiful and huge - and is next to the world-famous Bronx Zoo.)

New York was the place to be...

by TanjaE

New York was the place to be until last Tuesday, and hopefully will be a place to be soon again.
I love this City and my sorrow is with the NewYorkers... the fondest memory I have of NewYork is the variety and mixture of different people and cultures. I used to tell friends to go and visit NY, to experience a new feeling. I hope after all, it'll still be like that...

Walk the Brooklyn Bridge, walk...

by trishmat

Walk the Brooklyn Bridge, walk throught Central Park, and just walk everywhere to make sure you dont miss a thing! Staying in Soho in the most beautiful apartment and having it to ourselves. With a great view of the 'Twin Towers's from the window.

I'll be back with photos soon

Gramercy park

by isolina_it

Walking around East village on our way to catch the metro at Union square we found this cozy little park. It is a pretty small, fenced-in private park accessible only to residents of certain townhouses in the area who have keys to the park. It is the only remaining private park in the Borough of Manhattan.
The center of the park contains a statue of one of the area's most famous residents, Edwin Booth. Booth was one of the great Shakespearean actors of 19th century America.

Walking, walking, walking

by jessicadf

The best way to experience this city, or any city, is to walk as much as possible. See things from a human level. People watch. Eat where the locals eat. Drink with the locals. Walk until you can walk no more.
