I stayed here 2 nights in August 2004. The hotel is not bad. Our double room was tiny, as was the bathroom, but the location was fabulous. Located on 51st & 7th Ave, it's just a few blocks up from Times Square. It was so convenient to go to Times Square at night & the metro was right on 49th St.
Unique Quality: We didn't use any of their facilities. Just came here to sleep.

I have book this place online 5 months ago. Besides I have special request like needed extra pillows since travel with my hubby and two kids, infect we were happy to find our request were fulfilled. The only sad back is the room does not have wi-fi. Others being very good and satisfactory. They let us check out at 3pm even though the that time the hotel is full.....Thanks Giving Parade were held at Time Square Location ..........

Every new years eve new yorkers and others gather in times square to celebrate the new year. This is the place to be at in new years eve and its a site to remember. I for one would love to experience celebrating new year in Times Square.
During rush hour you don't want to be riding a car in times square because the traffic is heavy but if you are a Filipino I know its not a shock your or should I say we are used to traffic.ü

I visited Times Square when I was just 7 years old and even though I was just a kid I loved it because of all of the lights and electronic places that I saw. Now that I am older I definitely want to see Times Square again I think you guys should too ü

The square is instsntly recognisable from it's hoards of bright neon advertising boards which might sound gaudy but actually make an amazing sight in their own. the area is a huge commercial area with shops and restaurants stretching along it's lenght.
Times square used to be known as Longacre Square but was renamed Times Square after the The New York Times which was based at One Times Square.
On New Year's Eve a huge crowd descends on Times Square to countdown to midnight when a giant ball drops from One Times Square to signal the start of a new year.

She would like an indoor pool. I know this is not going to be cheap in NYC but can anyone recommend a good not too expensive option here.

Do you mean a hotel with a pool? I know one of the Sheraton chain (around 55th and Seventh Ave.) has one but I have no idea what their room rates are. Often in the summer, you can find a good deal, especially on weekends. Good luck! I think there may be another hotel in the theater district (Howard Johnson's Lodge??) that has a pool, too.
