If your pocketbook can afford it, the Sherry-Netherland is one of New York's poshest luxury hotels. My experience with the hotel comes from the free perspective of its exterior and lobby, and if these are fair indicators this is one theatrical place to stay. For those who can't afford to stay, the building's outward architecture resembles a darker silhouette of the Woolworth Building downtown.
Unique Quality: The hotel boasts famed Cipriani's, a place where celebrities come. . .in-room massage therapy . . . full concierge service. . .an address in which many rooms overlook Central Park. . .limousine and valet service. . .all-around 5-star service since 1927.
Directions: just east of southeast corner of Central Park by the Plaza Hotel
I am planning a 4 day suprise trip to New York for my husband's 60th birthday in December and have reserved a room at the Sherry Netherland Hotel. Would be really grateful for any information you have about it. Looking forward to your comments.
Your best bet is to read about that hotel or any other on www.tripadvisor.com. That used to be a very nice place, but I'm not really familiar on its ratings these days. Enjoy your trip!
